1. Economy in different hands.....
Joe ,   London, UK   (01.21.14)
This probably would not have happened if the previous English Religious Jew CEO was still in charge. I guess they're making up for lost time!
2. Indeed, The Economist, appologize now!!!!!
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.21.14)
3. Abe Foxman has credibility problems
Daniel   (01.21.14)
Not to defend the Economist, but Abe Foxman does not speak for American Jews, most of whom distrust him intensely.
4. No Need to Apologise
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (01.21.14)
Why apologise for depicting the truth. These so called stereotypes are true, but the occupiers don't want to hear truths that offend their brittle sensitivities. Well done "The Economist".
5. LMAO - is he serious?
Lynx ,   Palestine   (01.21.14)
Maybe we should ask Newton to apologize for implying the existence of a gravitation force on Earth!!
6. #4 You are such a moron.
Isac   (01.21.14)
By your own admission the Israeli government actions are tied to the Jews living worldwide. Woow, you really showed your true colors. No further comments needed for a bigot such as you.
7. I'd like to apologise for lefty-looney Foxman
Leon   (01.21.14)
I'm a jew and he does NOT represent me in ANY way shape or form whatsoever, he's a lefty-looneey propagandist and that's all.
8. @# 1-5 What year are we living in?
Daniel ,   TA - IL   (01.21.14)
Given the econmists and some reaction (most of whom are likely to be 'progressives') I would say in the retarded middle ages when jews were also accused of everything. Darren and the like of you are just retarded idiots lving in the middle ages
9. #8
Daniel   (01.21.14)
Sorry we're not as enlightened as you who call us "retarded idiots". That doesn't change a bit, though. Most American Jews are embarrassed of Foxman, he does not represent them despite his claims to the opposite. Nor does he represent Orthodox Jews, he often attacked the Rabbinate in Israel. Come to think of it, Abe Foxman only represents himself.
10. ADL is ridiculous
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (01.21.14)
See on Ynet the opinion "Jewish Democrats' surrender on Iran"
11. Business rather than opinion
Julien ,   Liverpool UK   (01.21.14)
These covers, these cartoons, they all are the manifestation of this business principle : bad publicity is still publicity. They spark outrage, the name of the newspaper or magazine is repeated over and over and ultimately they win.
12. But it's true!
J ,   Tel Aviv   (01.21.14)
And Israeli's even gloat about it.
13. To: No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.21.14)
Who appointed you spokesperson for American Jews? Speak for yourself.
14. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.21.14)
The Congress of the United States is the body of elected officials closest to the American voter -- especially the House of Representatives, whose members are elected to two-year terms. Has it occurred to you that the reason that the Congress of the United States is staunchly pro-Israel is because the voters whom they represent, and for whom they speak, are staunchly pro-Israel? And don't give me any nonsense about AIPAC being a powerful lobby. It's power, and its war chest, pales in comparison to that of the pro-Arab lobby (big oil) and you don't see the United States Congress kneeling at that altar. Believe it or not, the pro-Israel stance of the United States is based on principle. Americans don't like terrorism, or terrorists. Polls don't lie, and the polls show that Americans are overwhelmingly pro-Israel.
15. Economist AKA The Islamic Jihadist's
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (01.21.14)
Same old British ignorance this time represented by a flaming anti semitic 'author' and foul 'cartoonist.' They can't criticize the Muslims or end up like the Dutch cartoonist who drew a cartoon of Mohammed with a fuse lit under his turban assassinated by their heroes the Muslims It was a fabulous cartoon and the Muslims of course had to assassinate the messenger. Now, the Brits are held hostage by their non Jewish Muslim murderers. Next, the Brits will bow towards Mecca and butcher goats ( hopefully no more off duty UK Soldiers ) in their streets. The sun never shines on Britain. Britain could sink tomorrow and no one would miss it. No one at all. KEEP BUILDING !!!!!
16. A lucky break Jews don't assassinate carttonist
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (01.21.14)
only anti semitism okayed by the executives is approved for publication. Sue the editor, the author, the cartoonist. The 'Economist' will then belong to Foxman!!! Go for it Foxman your 150% right on the mark. SUE BABY SUE KEEP BUILDING !!!!
17. Good use for the Economist
Peter ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.21.14)
I have a dozen economists sitting next to my toilet waiting to be used.
18. 'Bay nay noo'....
Joe ,   London, UK   (01.21.14)
We do know who actually does run the world, but why is it necessary to be so blatant about it?!
19. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.21.14)
May I take it, then, that you have no problem with a cartoon depicting Mohammed wearing a headdress with a lit bomb? What with so many Moslem bombers and terrorists, surely you find that as natural and as right as gravitational forces. So many Moslems do, unfortunately, gravitate toward violence, after all.
20. Missing the point - sanity prevailed
Avramele   (01.21.14)
The administration won and the military confrontationist lost on this one. So the Jewish political juggernaut (assuming it was even at play) is clearly not of mythical proportions. Many Israelis and Jews are rather pleased on this immediate turn of events as it is unclear how Israel ( and America) would handle a second strike of rockets and suicide bombings from multiple sources. Wars, as the first Lebanon adventure, are easier to start than to extricate from.
21. Ridiculous Article
Matt A ,   Philadelphia, PA   (01.21.14)
Not only is that picture blatant anti-Semitism, but it's WRONG because there are Jewish Congress persons who are actively shooting down new sanctions for Iran, so the Jews aren't holding him back.
22. Truth is NOT antisemitic! There are
Robert ,   USA   (01.21.14)
many American-jews who's loyalty is solely to israel.
23. Looks like The Economist used Ynet as source
Tom ,   Tel Aviv   (01.21.14)
You just have to look on the opinion on Ynet "Jewish Democrats' surrender on Iran". The Israel right-wingers are trying so hard to include all the jews (esp. in the US) in their policy towards Iran that they are not even hesitate to mobilise antisemitic prejudices of dual loyalty.
24. two shias shaking hands. how original
jericho ,   causa   (01.21.14)
Hussein is highly regarded by Shia Muslims
25. ADL vs. The Truth
Nadya ,   California, USA   (01.21.14)
It's called the right to freedom of speech and expression. The ADL feels uncomfortable with the truth and all the public outrage only makes more people aware of it.
26. #6 Isac being economic with the truth
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (01.21.14)
Israel often put's itself forward as representing all the world's Jews, which is why Netanyahu is insistent on demanding that Israel be recognised as the homeland of the Jews. Not just some Jews but all Jews
27. #20 I prefer to think
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (01.21.14)
that JStreet held sway over the white house that time than AIPAC
28. #22
Malone Cooper ,   New York, US   (01.21.14)
"There are many American-Jews who's loyalty is solely to Israel". You claim that 'truth is NOT Anti-semitic". Well, the truth is also that there are many American-Greeks (and others for that matter) who's sole loyalty is to Greece. What IS anti-semitic about this case is that it is always and only the Jews who are portrayed in this manner, when the same can be said about other groups but is NOT.
29. TO Robert , USA
igor ,   Canada, Thornhill   (01.21.14)
Yes truth and the Obama is Muslim.
30. #28 Malone Cooper
(01.21.14)
