1. we are rich & don't want foreigners disrupting out world
zionist forever   (01.22.14)
You can have your pre school as long as its in south Tel Aviv where the poor people live but we are the rich elite and we don't want these people disrupting our perfect sheltered lives where there are no africans on the street and plenty of security to protect us at night. We need to get the illegal infiltraitors out the country itself not just out of the rich areas and Meretz need to wake up to that fact.
2. The worm has turned
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.22.14)
There's an expression in the United States -- NIMBY. It stands for "Not In My Back Yard." So, evidently, what is sauce for the geese of South Tel Aviv is unacceptable sauce for the ganders of North Tel Aviv. Shocking. Shocking, I tell you!
3. Foreigners in foreign countries !
(01.22.14)
4. Fed up with these illegals ! This gov. is weak and a liar
(01.22.14)
5. All foreigner workers should be limited to 2 years in Israel
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (01.22.14)
There should not be a case where foreigner workers are here indefinitely, raising families & establishing roots. If this happens Israel will cease to be a Jewish state. Foreign workers should be given a 2 year visa after which they must leave. Illegal immigrants must be deported.
6. Pre School for Illegals?
Ron ,   oc us   (01.22.14)
Foreigners children maybe, illegals and Arabs: NO!!!!!
7. Illegal immigrants
Yechiel Christ   (01.22.14)
Aren't they doing jobs no one else is willing to do? In America there are 20 million illegals. As long as they don't rape and murder what's the big deal?
8. Make up your mind
Daniel   (01.22.14)
As always, the talkback is filled with comments about "all foreigners out". And if someone calls Israel racist, the same talkbackers complains. It's just as stupid as when Muslims turned violent to protest the pope saying Muslims are violent... If you only allow people of a certain race or religion to live somewhere, then you're racist. It's as easy as that. Israel is not racist (lots of non-Jews in Israel) but the people who shout "no foreigners, no Arabs" are most certainly as racist as one can be.
9. North TA preschool
RK ,   Eilat, Israel   (01.22.14)
Sadly, we've become like the "other nations". We are paranoid, racist and xenophobic. Doesn't matter whether it's foreigners, Arabs or Ethiopian Jews. We used to be better than this. Now, we might as well be Ukrainians, Lithuanians or Serbs.
10. #1 I wouldn't be too sure
(01.22.14)
From the article it seems you have a lot of senior citizens who spent their pension on buying houses in an area with a park. The city decided to pave over the park and turn it into a preschool, so the senior citizens are against. Meretz tries to remain relevant by attacking the old Jews as racists.
11. Segregated education creates racist society, public schools
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.22.14)
...are for everyone, not just Jews.
12. those same wealthy people
JL   (01.22.14)
do not care that south tel aviv is awash with illegals and their children..those same wealthy people are those that support meretz and human rights..as long as its not in their neighborhoods
13. HYPOCRITES to the 10th degree!
Susi ,   Israel   (01.22.14)
Wow, where are all those bleeding heart lefties now?? Haha, when it's in YOUR neighborhood, you fight to get them out. When it's in THEIR neighborhood, you protest to keep them in. We know all about your little game Folks.

Dr Doolittle. ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.22.14)
Madam, please get a grip on things, this shock you are experiencing could do irreversible damage your health.
15. Why not low-cost housing for economic migrants in N.TV?
Cowboy Joe ,   Calgary, Canada   (01.22.14)
16. Amazing
Jerome ,   AKL   (01.22.14)
Last week I saw a group of two overweight barbaric couples visiting the Auckland Museum. Judging by the amount of custom jewelry and the fake designer bags, I suspected they were from one of Israel’s arabic speaking neighboring countries. That until they opened their trap in Hebrew. It turned out they were visiting from Naot Afeka in North TA. They may well be Yaakov Dori and Avraham Shavit the "Elite" from your article.

Airborne ,   Jerusalem   (01.22.14)
You want the legal or moral reasons why illegal immigrants should not be allowed to have the same rights as citizens? Are they more virtuous? You might as well suggest there should be no borders.
18. Well stop voting Meretz folks
Mordechai   (01.23.14)
Perhaps you Tel Aviv leftists are learning if you keep voting for the left eventually the problems they bring to the country won't just be limited to the poor in South Tel Aviv.
19. To: Dr. Dolittle at No. 14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.23.14)
Thanks for your concern, but I'll be just fine. Might have to sell our flat in Tel Aviv, but we decamped to Saviyyon years ago. Were it not so pathetic and sad, and reach the halls of power in Israel, the hypocrisy of the liberal left is nauseating. I'm glad to see their true colors shining through. Now everyone knows not to take them seriously.
20. To: No. 10

Heaven knows I would never want to begrudge elderly pensioners their right to sit quietly in a beautiful park. But what of the children of South Tel Aviv whose parks are filled with Africans sleeping on the benches, on the playground mats, urinating in public -- do our children deserve less consideration than elderly pensioners not long for this mortal coil? Can the Jewish children of South Tel Aviv come and enjoy the park along with the pensioners, or is that unacceptable to our liberal lefty pensioners, too?
