1. We want to stay in Palestine...
Settlers for Peace   (01.27.14)
Jews living in the Land of Israel is about as natural as fish in water, Israel or Palestine, wr're here to stay.
2. Not a possibility
Norman Gellman ,   Rehovot   (01.27.14)
Jews and for that matter all non muslims would not be able to live under Palestinian rule. For that matter Christians are now having a bad time under Palestinian rule. There is no indication that a Muslim Palestine would be a sympathetic place for non Muslims to live. Just look at Saudi Arabia another Muslim country. There are no churches or synagogues there.Abbas has already indicated that Jews would not be allowed in his Palestine.
3. What?!
Muhannad AbuTair ,   Jerusalem   (01.27.14)
where do you get your information from? Abbas and palestinians have always stated that settlers could stay but under palestinian rule and with a palestinian passport, they will be treated fairly according to palestinian law. Abbas said not 1 israeli official or soldier will stay in Palestine, he was not referring to settlers. And please do not talk without knowing, christians are NOT facing any hard time living in Palestine.
4. Any attempt to limit our living space under the sun, only
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.27.14)
because we are Jewish, is, by definition, an act of racism, anti-Jewish racism at that. Anyone who dare suggesting that we limit our living space better apply some soul searching and re-direct her/his moral compass.
5. Unrestrained armed Jewish terrorists already living there
miki ,   tampa   (01.27.14)
The idea to give them to the Palestinians is a very good one, we don't want them.
6. Why even suggesting that Jews, only because they are
Yael ,   Rehovot, Israel   (01.27.14)
Jewish, refrain from residing in parts of their homeland, especially that Jews not only have the historic right to do so; the ethical right to do so; but also the legal right, under international law to reside anywhere between the River and the Sea? Are Canadians told to refrain from living in the U.S.? Are Arabs told to vacate Israel? So, why expect Jews to vacate any part of their homeland?
7. "no settler will be allowed to live in the Palestinian state
CJK   (01.27.14)
erakat: "no settler will be allowed to live in the palestinain state, not even a single one." you are right erakat. there will never be an arab muslim palestinian state. there will never be an arab palestinian jew free state with its institutionalised apartheid, racism and jew hatred. if the arab muslim palestinians palestinians want any kind of a state, they must set up a democratic state with minority rights and religious freedom for all. a democratic parliamentary system was a requirement for israel's admission to the un and no less must be demanded of the arab muslim palestinians.
8. Jews can live in "Palestine"
g.e.   (01.27.14)
Sure Jews can live in "Palestine," if they don't mind the possibility of being brutally lynched and their bodies thrown out the windows to the screaming mobs.
9. Ofcourse settlers should stay...
Mark Shroeder ,   Germany   (01.27.14)
In addition to that ALL Palestinian refugees and their descendants should be guaranteed the right of return to their homes in Israel with those occupying their homes and businesses be thrown out.
10. #4 N.L.Katz
(01.27.14)
What about non Jews citizens of Israel who are discriminated against. Is that racism too?
11. So long the Arabs want a "cleansed" Palestine of Jews, there
Adam Smith   (01.27.14)
won't be a Palestine.
12. Of course they can.....after a while
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (01.27.14)
When peace and the two-state solution has been firmly settled, Jews can and should have the right to live in a Palestinian state. For the first couple of years, it will probably be difficult, or even impossible. Any sne person would understand why.
13. This should not be a debatable issue...
Mark Wilson ,   U.S.A.   (01.27.14)
Settlers are illegal under UN law. The issue that should be discussed is the right of return of ALL Palestinian refugees and their descendants...
14. GREAT! Jews in Yehuda & Shomron can now have their own PM
Time for Election in ,   Yehuda & Shomron   (01.27.14)
with Bibi's approval. Time for election.
15. If there's a "Palestine" the word "FUTURE" is non existent!
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.27.14)
16. #7 Erekat was talking about a settler
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (01.27.14)
Not a Palestinian ctizen. There is a big difference and your scaremongering belies your rel agenda. Ensuring the revenue stream of Israeli taxpayer money remains so you can have an early morning swim in your taxpayer funded swimming pool
17. You can't expect Jews not to dwell in Beith El, Shiloh,
NLK ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.27.14)
Hebron, Sh'chem, Beth Lehem and other such ancient Jewish towns and villages, only because Jews were expelled from that part of the country between the years 1948 and 1967 by the ethnic cleansers, the Arabs. This is the heart of the Jewish homeland, and no one has either the moral or legal right to tell us, Jews, that we must not live there, no one.
18. If Palestinian state is established
Boris   (01.27.14)
..Jews should be treated nothing better and nothing worse ..like Palestinians are treated in Israel. Only that way its equal in both ways.
19. Culture chasm too huge
Berk ,   Amsterdam   (01.27.14)
Settlers mainly derive from western countries, so fit better in western societies.
20. # 19
Patrik Fitzgerald ,   Over there.   (01.27.14)
but they were misfits in their western societies, and have now taken themselves and their personalities to these areas.A misfit is a misfit.
21. Yes !!
Mike ,   Rishon le Zion   (01.27.14)
Great idea. Leave the idiots where they are and take the IDF out. They'll soon be running back here banging on the doors of the Bituach Leumi.
22. No, of course not
steve from raleigh   (01.27.14)
They can't tolerate Jews living anywhere on earth.
23. Jews as the nation
Avraham ,   Jerusalem   (01.27.14)
As long as Muslims, Arabs, but also all other world nations do not accept the truth that, being a Jew, means belonging to the Jewish nation and not only to that religion, Israel will have difficulties to be recognized as the national Jewish state.
24. Jewish communities in the PA?
RayS ,   USA   (01.27.14)
This is a silly idea. Mr PM, do you see any Jewish commun ities in Jordan? In Saudi Arabia? in Egypt? in Lebanon? AND IN GAZA? Silly people in the US State Dept may think this possible ,but any adult Jew should know this is a dumb idea. That the PM's office should float such a proposition (for any tactical or other reason} is irresponsible.
25. Lease colonies. . .
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (01.27.14)
Britain owned Hong Kong on a long lease which expired, and the colony was handed back to China on condition it would maintain its standards of human rights. The PA may want to lease some Arab communities inside Israel, people who see themselves as Palestinian Arabs, not Israelis. Israel could lease some of the Israeli settlements inside the PA. There could also be a lose federation between Jordan, Israel and the PA.
26. Mark Shroeder no 9
(01.27.14)
The Europeans are friends and love the Palestinians and Islam, and getting on very well. Let them to come and settle in Europe. Jews & Arabs do not get on well.
27. Not to worry...
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.27.14)
...because on April 15th, it will all start to change. We Jews will begin the process of reclaiming all our original land, including the West Bank and Gaza. No one will be able to stop us. A new era is about to begin.
28. Not a new idea, but still a good one!
Shai ,   Canada   (01.27.14)
This approach has been advocated by APoJi (A Peace of Jerusalem initiative) since 2009. This informal, grassroots proposal calls for the creation of a special class of permanent residents that would: protect both states against shifting demographics while preserving Israel's Jewish nature; affirm the right of Jews to live in a future Arab state in ancient Judea & Samaria; and provide Israeli Arabs the chance to participate in the formation of the new Arab state, at a national level.
29. The issue is citizenship and sovereinty
Jill F ,   Hanapepe, USA   (02.02.14)
not ethnicity. Jewish settlers already have Israel citizenship. Would they want to exchange that for Palestinian citizenship? Would they want to live under Palestinian rule without the protection of the IDF? Would they welcome non-Jewish Arabs as neighbors in their settlements? If so, it would be up to the Palestinian government, like any other government to decide whether to grant citizenship or legal residency to those individuals who want to remain.
