It depends where you eat, Michael. There's a restaurant in Yountville, California called The French Laundry. Lunch for two starts at $590 -- and the food is only slightly better than "okay." But no, it isn't cheaper to eat in a United States restaurant than it is to eat at an Israeli restaurant. Unless you frequent Applebees or McDonalds, and I don't. In answer to your question, however, evidently you are unaware that while the United States subsidizes agricultural and dairy products, Israel does not. Were the United States to stop subsidizes agricultural produce and dairy farms and cattle ranches, you'd be looking at paying around $7.00 for a quart of milk and $11.00 per pound for chicken. As it is, the subsidies are passed along to the taxpayer. I didn't mind so much, when most farms were family owned. These days, however, most farms in the United States are owned by mega-corporations such as Archer-Daniels-Midland and Conagra, and I find myself a bit outraged that the American taxpayer should fund any sort of benefit to multi-billion dollar corporations. Perhaps Israel should subsidize agricultural and dairy products. It will certainly bring down the cost of cottage cheese .... at the cost of a tax increase. If you cannot have both, which would you choose?

The Wadi/tri angle must go to the Arsbs.
5. #1-Simply not true....

Unless you eat at non Kosher Junk Food restaurants. Kosher restaurants, especially the high end ones, are ridiculously expensive.
6. Do not use the term"child-free homes" ? use: "child vacant
Moshe ,   Usa   (01.30.14)
homes" instead. The reason is that "vacant is more to the point. If Israel Jews want to grow Israel, you will need to have a average of far more than 2.7 children born to each young couple in order to defend Israel & spread out over the land as if it really is the only place in the world for Jews to defend against antisemitism. And the word "vacant" is appropriate because it implies that Jew who want to be "child free" have vacant brains & they don't know their real job is to have as many children as they can. Don't think that you can live in the modern word. Forget that ! You can serve the modern world, yes. But you better make children & learn how to live together economically. And guess what ! The less children you have, the more you will be called into defend Israel. And that doesn't add to you freedom, does it? So start doing your job & make more babies today.
7. #3, Subsidies only allow U.S. farmers to compete.
Michael ,   California, USA   (01.30.14)
To compete with Mexican, Central American and South American imports to the U.S.. Israel also imports a lot of its food items (guess from where?) And, Israel also subsidizes its farmers. Try again.
