While NATO is a very strong force compared to UNIFIL, there are still questions of how effective they will be, how long will they maintain their resolve, and will they be able to commit 100% to Israel's security regardless of their respective countries' interests? Also, the term indefinite is a little troubling. While the implication is that they would be there for several years, the "palestinians" can decide they don't want them there after a month or so, then what? Further, at the bottom of the article, it mentions that Abbas presented Bibi with the idea of an American-led NATO force with Jordanian troops. Jordanian troops should NOT be patrolling the border between "palestinians" and Israel, unless that border is present-day Jordan. There's just too much of a security risk. The bottom line is that the IDF can only protect Israel with Israel's security in mind 100% of the time.
