1. pull out and its political suicide for Lapid
zionist forever   (02.05.14)
Alot of Lapid supporters were from the left who fell for his promises of all things to all people and when he made his Riki Cohen budget the left felt betrayed by him so he needs time to rebuild his damaged image. This time round he is going into the election as just another politician, his populist haredi crusade won't be good enough to get him the second largest party in the Knesset. Now he has let down the left alot of supporters will probably go with Herzog who is now the unknown leftist. Providing Bennett doesn't quit like he has been threatening to do Bibi can survive without Lapid if he invites the haredi parties and in the past Bennett has hinted he would be willing to sit with them.
2. torah soldiers
milson   (02.05.14)
enough with this antiquated draft evasion method. get all haredi into idf service of some type now. They have to be able to defend themselve and to be physically dependent and not simply to be book nerds who are submissive. In terms of idf service, lapid who did not do his combat duty should also get the hell into the idf and not simply press spokesman and that applies to micheal and amir oren, sarid, yechaimovtich, gal on, peres. All of you, get the hell into the army. It also applies to herzog getting into combat duties where he can see action. Note that most of the osloists, not all but most of them have not done meaningful idf service which means that in case of war, they are the ones to defend the state. lapid, get the hell into the idf yourself.
3. Israel is on the path to

self destruction.
4. Lapid: Haredi draft, or we'll quit coalition
George Weiss ,   Teaneck   (02.05.14)
Lapid is on a crusade to destroy the haredi community by destroying their life style. And yet he does nothing against the many young men from Tel Aviv (his Chaverim) who also evade army service on a grand scale. He should quit the government and let the Chareidim in. of course, he will not do this as it defeats his purpose.
5. #1 If this government survives.....
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.05.14)
.....it will be political suicide for Israel and you will lose your self-chosen title "forever"

(02.05.14)
7. apparently
(02.05.14)
Everyone knows that the IDF does not want and can't afford the Haredim. In fact, the IDF wants and needs to reduce manpower. So why does Lapid do things that damage Israel's security? Apparently Lapid believes that elections will soon be forced on Netanyahu by Obama. Just like his father before him, Lapid apparently wants to attract Leftist voters by Haredi-baiting.
8. Suicide for Lapid - This is not the issue
Taxpayer ,   Hod Hasharon   (02.05.14)
The issue is peace and Lapid has just thown his cards down on the wrong table
9. To: No. 5

11. Lapid
Brod ,   USA   (02.05.14)
Israel's government should kick out the Leftist Lunacy from sabotaging the government. They are colluding with external anti-Israel elements and the Islamist-Jihadist usurpers that are crusading against Israel to disappear from the Land of Israel. They cannot be considered true Jews as they do not know the GOD of Israel and the Land of Israel.
12. When will we get the honor
For Israel's benefit ,   please quit NOW   (02.05.14)
of the modern-day Haman quitting? Will we merit a happy month of the first Adar already?
13. Lapid is all talk
Dani ,   Nahariya   (02.05.14)
You don't have the balls to quit! Close your mouth for once. He's all talk!
14. It is time and past time for
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.05.14)
the Haridi community to share in the defense of Israel. They live here, they are subsidized to enormous amounts ad they live off of our taxes. Time for them to give!
15. Lapid, QUIT ALREADY
(02.05.14)
16. How about pushing for more IDF enlistment in Tel Aviv?
Jake   (02.05.14)
It was an article here on Ynet a couple years ago that put the reality in perspective. In a list of 66 towns and citiies in Israel, Tel Aviv is down in 52nd place in IDF enlistment (47%). As for combat soldiers, the district with the highest percentage of combat soldiers (who spent the majority of their military service in a combat unit): The Judea and Samaria District gets first place with 61%. The national average is 44.2. The only other two districts who received above average scores are the Jerusalem District (52) and the Northern District (50). The district with the smallest number of combat soldiers is the Dan Subdistrict (Tel Aviv area) (36%).
17. Lapid is a burden on the nation no one will want to share
hadad ,   Israel   (02.05.14)
18. Make way for Shas and UTJ
Akiva ,   NYC   (02.06.14)
The last thing Israel needs now is a war between Lapidniks and Haredim. B'nei Torah are not criminals, and the IDF does not want the entire Haredi youth. The bill proposed makes sense and should receive widespread support. May the merit of Limmud Torah and the coming Shmitta year invoke Divine blessings on Eretz HaKodesh.
19. Olam Haba
Avi ,   New York   (02.06.14)
Some people win their place in Olam Haba [eternal life] in a moment. This is Yair Lapid's chance to win his place in Eternity. Please, for Israel's sake, leave the Coalition and take your Yesh Atid Party with you.
