1. The Arabs Will Not Be Rewarded For Their Violence
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.07.14)
Not with a (Jew-free!) state of their own here in OUR land, and not with a part of OUR state. They chose war, violence, terror, and greed, and will get nothing here. And if they don't like it, they can leave.
2. Isratine Smishratine whatever
Cynic #2   (02.07.14)
Actually Mr. London presents the problem and the solution. the Middle East was divided into political entities based upon colonial interests, which the region is still suffering from and that includes the establishment of Israel. What we see and/or will see in the region is a process of dissolution of Sykes Pico, separation of ethnic entities and the creation of large economic unions which will spread prosperity and democracy amongst the 'native savages'. For Israel to survive, it has to integrate, there is no other choice in the long run. This is called the New Middle East and it is being engineered by the global masters whether you like it or not. There is no plan B.
3. Question for Mr. London
Abraham Nachmias ,   Petach Tikva IL   (02.07.14)
So what would you do with the arabs living in Israel? Are they not arabs just the same that arabs living in Ramallah? What's the difference between an arab from Um el-fahem and an arab from Chevron other that the first has Bituach Leumi and all the benefits we give? If you are right then you should include them in the arab part of the land! Do you have the willing and/or the guts for that?
4. Far-left and far-right are both delusional
Sam ,   Canada   (02.07.14)
Israel will be maintained as a Jewish majority country with a predominant Jewish culture. The West Bank will continue to be settled as Jewish biblical territory but not annexed. The alternative are Jewish and Palestinian states but Palestinians are not up to it. The status quo which those trying to bully Israel say is not sustainable will remain by default.
5. why Czechs and Slovaks?
(02.07.14)
Look at how Jews in all Arab countries were expelled. Look at Syria or Lebanon. Look at the Copts in Egypt. Look at the Christians under PLO and Hamas rule. The only place "multicultural" works in the whole Middle East, where Jews, Druze, Christians, Bedouin Circassians, Samaritans and Gays can live together in a Jewish state. The only way to ensure this multiculturalism is to give Israel secure borders (at least Jordan River and Golan) and expel anyone who can't live under this arrangement
6. The Way Forward
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (02.07.14)
If the current talks fail (and of course they will), it is time for Israel to act unilaterally, but intelligently. The time has come for Israel to decide and announce its borders. Of course, the major settlement blocks should be annexed. Israel should announce that the remaining areas will be vacated by Israeli troops as soon as the International Community makes provisions (such as NATO troops) to guarantee that these lands will not be turned into rocket-launching sites. Then Israel should also announce that Jewish settlements in the West Bank outside of Israel's declared borders will be dismanted, provided the International Community provides funds to pay for this. The beauty of this strategy is that it puts the International Community on the defensive. What do y'all think?
7. 6 Jason.International community,
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (02.07.14)
If you rely on the international community, you will end up like the Bosnian muslims in Srebrenica, they were killed by the serbs, while under the protection of the dutch army, the only solution, trade in,Vady Arah with the inhabitants, for the unpopulated area in the west bank, including the Jordan valley.
8. Before the zionists there was peace.
Jim ,   USA   (02.07.14)
9. Isratine? Sounds like a Dental Toothpaste
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (02.07.14)
Or a send up Im Proud to be Palestinian not an Isratineiananian?"!!! What it does suggest though is the irrefutable fact that though separate countries the futures of Palestine and Israel are inextricably linked - to progress and prosper we need Peace and Security just as much as Israel We want the Negotiations to succeed
10. #6
Jeff ,   USA   (02.07.14)
That would be the smart move, but I guarantee you it won't happen.
11. #5 25,000 to 35,000 Jews in Iran.
Albrecht ,   EU   (02.07.14)
12. Isratine
andre daie ,   Gladstone MO USA   (02.07.14)
Mr. London said it correclty that it took 1500 years of war for Europe to Unite. For Palestine and Israel to unite 70 years has passed with war and and killing.. If history is our guide to guage the future, many more years of conflict should occur before a union between palestinians and Israelies took place.
13. Nonsense. The Right is talking about annexing Area C
Jake   (02.07.14)
Not A and B, and not the Gaza Strip. This idea is neither the preserve nor the product of the Right. It's virtually identifical to the Allon Plan, and to what Rabin said in his lweast speech to the Knesset on 5 Oct, 1995.
14. Wrong pick ,...
split ,   US   (02.07.14)
Czechs and Slovaks are established nations living there since ice age as neighbors not some wandering squatters trying to steal other's land ,...
15. Judea and Samaria = Israel ! The Arabs
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (02.07.14)
must be payed to go !
16. split: Slavic tribes have conquered current lands < 2K yrs
jdc   (02.07.14)
Since the ice age ? you must be joking. Now as you must have heard, the Jews have conquered the land of Israel (from the Cannanites) about 3K yrs ago. The Arabs have conquered that land about 1300 yrs ago. Now the Jews are back (and mostly out of Europe: less than 10% of Jews live in Europe, compared with 90% 100 yrs ago). (please do not start with the Khazar hypothesis, it is discredited hogwash). And, things are getting better for all: Jews have departed North Africa, Mesopotamia, leaving them happy and prosperous.
17. #11, Last official census revealed only 8756 Jews in Iran.
Jake   (02.07.14)
That was in 2011. But by all means, keep trumpeting the old propaganda. You only discredit yourself.
18. #8 Massacre of Jews in Safed in 1834
Jake   (02.07.14)
Was that not before the Zionists? Let me guess. It's all peaceful as long as Jews don't fight back.
19. Albrecht: 100K Jews in Iran in 1979. Now in LA and Israel
jdc   (02.07.14)
Pretty steep drop. I wonder what happened ?
20. "Isratine" is impossible.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (02.07.14)
As a friend of Jewish people, from Christian Arab ascendence, I dare to repeat: Two States in Old Palestine are necessary; out of it there are not fair solutions. Frontiers must be redrawed. No military forces, west from Jordan River, but IDF. Mutual recognizing. Peace with honor and security.
21. To: Jason at No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.07.14)
I think it is time for Israel to stop apologizing endlessly for having emerged victorious in six wars it did not start. I think it is time for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria -- not just the settlement blocs -- and repatriate every Arab squatting illegally there to Jordan, country of their citizenship. I do not want ANY foreign soldiers on Israeli soil; they will be walking, talking targets for the "Palestinians." No foreign soldier has ever died in the defense of the security of the State of Israel and I like it that way. Besides, NATO and any other "peace-keepers" are inept -- witness Iraq I, Afghanistan, Iraq II, Libya, Yemen -- and are not likely to come from neutral countries. The only soldiers I trust to protect Israel are Jewish soldiers. No one else gives a damn, and will, quite likely, be supportive of the "Palestinians." They will also be in the way should Israel have reason to retaliate against "Palestinian" aggression. There is but no question that Israel would roll right over them if necessary, and I would prefer that never come up on the spectrum. Israel is an independent, sovereign state with a vast array of capabilities. We do not need foreigners to do our work for us; we also need to grow a pair and tell the international community to f*ck off until it is ready to practice what it preaches. Israel is not the world's crash test dummy.
22. Albrecht @ 11 ,...
split ,   US   (02.07.14)
Needless to mention they have a representative in parliament, now if the Israeli Palestinians had the same treatment in Israel how many should they have in Knesset? ,...
23. Partition plan
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (02.07.14)
If you want to give part of a country to the so called "Palestinians", give them part of Jordan.
24. #6 It will depend
(02.07.14)
on which side will be to blame for the failure of talks. If Israel proves intransigent why should the international community support Israel's unilateral plan? If Palestinians prove intransigent then Israel's unilateral plan might work, if it's along the lines that Israel is expected to agree to in the talks with Palestinians.
25. #1 Your bigotry, greed and violence won't be rewarded either
(02.07.14)
26. # 16 - Jews have conquered the land of Israel ,...
split ,   US   (02.08.14)
1) Where's there any record except your fairy tales? ,... 2) Assuming you're right those Hebrews you're talking about according to many scholars got hellenised, romanised, traded and mingled with conquerors and on the end converted to Islam to avoid taxes you on the other hand are those wanderers converts/impostors without any roots claiming a land that's not theirs. By the way Arabs have a much longer uninterrupted record of their existence there than you or any other invader ,...
27. split: on Hebrew record in Israel
jdc   (02.09.14)
The oldest Hebrew inscriptions found in Israel are from 2800 years ago. That's on fairy tales. You can find them in museums: in Israel and in Istanbul. Arch of Titus from ~2K years ago is a nice depiction of the Roman put-down of the Judean revolt. So much for Hellenized. The Jewish claim to the Land of Israel is probably the worst-kept secret over millenia. All Christians (and Moslems) know it. They just figured the Jews are divinely punished and so are out of luck. The Arabs have been in the Land of Israel since their invasion in 1300 years ago, a long tenure. So ? Does force of arms grant rights to land ? Only if held long enough ?. The modern Jewish sovereignty is about 65 years old, pretty short, though longer than some countries. I guess some wait is in order.
28. Follow it to the end
Carl   (02.09.14)
You're 100% right and all Arabs currently living in Israel should move to the new state of Palestine.
29. Need more Jews
Zechariah   (02.09.14)
We need more Jews ant it can only be through Progressive en masse Delete the uh humanitarian parts of the Torah The Talmud on the whole is ok and increases intellectual acuity with all those arguments .The shabbos ought be kept without driving cars for Ecologigal reasons but Public transport if ecological and safe allowed .Basically we need three hundred million Jews ten percent in Israel.
30. #8: before Zionists there was the Holocaust
(02.09.14)
