1. For someone who doesn't call for a boycott of the Jews,
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (02.12.14)
again, he talks a lot about a boycott. One wonders, why....?? And, why, in Munich of all places, the Secretary of State of the US had to talk about non-boycott boycott and now he sends a man by the name of Schultz to deliver the same message...?? We, Jews, have experienced this act of singling out the Jews and denying them the opportunity to act freely in society, primarily in Europe, for centuries. Now, the same Europeans expect the Jews, again, to be punished for the actions - or lack there of - of the non-Jews, the Arabs in this case: bow down and kiss the boot of the Keiser - or the Wash. DC emperor - or else...!! We, Jews, say: Never Again!!
2. on boycotts of israel
C   (02.12.14)
martin schulz knows that boycotting israel is illegal under numerous legal theories. interstingly, schulz does not say that boycotts are immoral. what he says is that boycotts will be carried out by private companies. boycotts by private companies are also illegal.
3. Some thoughts.
Jules   (02.12.14)
The very question about boycotting Israel is absolutely ridiculous. Israel is the ONLY liberal democracy in the Middle East. All citizens enjoy the same essential civil rights, most importantly: the right to vote. On the contrary, Israel is surrounded by failed states: some are disintegrating due to sectarian conflicts; some manifest absolutely horrendous attitudes towards women, such as female genital mutilation. The international community definitely needs to turn its attention to the Islamic world first, and fix all the problems there.
4.  If it quacks like a duck and it walks like a duck ...
EST ,   Miami USA   (02.12.14)
Of course there's a boycott against Israel in the Eu. They spend billions of euros paying for a war against Israel. They fund terror, they pay a salary to murderers of Israelis, they print textbooks promoting hatred against Israel. What else do we need to know the truth????
5. devious Europeans
tiki ,   belgium   (02.12.14)
1) "We're not anti Semitic".....only 'anti Settlement, 'anti Zionist expansion & 'anti Israel politics! 2) "We don't boycott"....... just explain & advise private firms (who are not under our control) that doing business or providing services to the 'settlements is 'problematic under international law and we would therefore advise strongly to reconsider! Excuses 1 & 2 are just BS. They ARE anti Semites and use this to boycott the JEWISH state!
6. @all Whats hard to understand here? EU doenst boycott! Stop
European Union   (02.12.14)
build on palestinian ground and so european companies will stop boycott israeli goods! Its not that difficult isnt it? And better stop playing the "forever victim card", we have 2014 now!
7. change them by.....
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (02.12.14)
Maybe there is no boycot now, but... in the future? I don't know, I hope not. A lot of left parties in Europe, not only the extreme ones also the social-democrats, are against Israel. Since years! They use the Zionist ideology to hide that old sleeping, now awakening anti-Semitism. The most of this parties want the votes of the Arab-Islamic immigrants in their country. A lot of those immigrants, not to say the big majority, are pure anti-Semitic (due to their religion and their fanatic imams, preachers and teachers). Certainly also the same reborn anti-Semitism in the extreme right political parties and less in the other so called moderate parties. Now, about the turmoil around Scarlett Johansson and the SodaStream company. Change the Palestinian workers by Thai or kibbutz-volunteers. Wait... and you will hear the shouting of the Trotskyist Oxfam, other extreme organisations, political parties in Europe and elsewhere about it. By the way: I don't care Palestinians work there (in the settlements)!
8. TO TIKI # 5 ...
FO ,   Belgium   (02.12.14)
Why, Tiki, do you expect the Europeans, and not only them, to be more Catholic than the Pope? Did you ever try, Tiki, to confront local politicians, journalists with documents confirming Israel's irrevocable rights in International Law? By documents I mean the "League of Nations Mandate for Palestine" its reaffirmation by "Article 80 of the United Nations Charter" the "UNSC Resolution 242" with the explanations of its author Prof. Eugene Rostow, the "Fourth Geneva Convention" with the scandalous cheating, pretending that the rule was applicable to Israel, because it had been at war with Jordan, as if Israel is occupying Jordanian territory! Ever tried, Tiki, to confront politicians, journalists with all this data? I did, and not once, and continue to do it, and their reaction is always the same: we are totally unaware of the existence of all those documents! Followed by the most annoying question: why is the Israeli government keeping mum about all this? Indeed, Tiki, why?
9. There is no OFFICIAL boycot
Daniel ,   TA _ IL   (02.12.14)
however, people like schuklz for years work behind the scenes at the eu to boycot israel and make terror acceptable. Why is he here, he is a hamas supporter. Are we doorwipes? Clearly we are
10. Benevolence
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (02.12.14)
Isn't it nice to hear such an interesting argument that the BDS is a private business decision, not the EU's official position. Perhaps it's because Israel is now an observer nation of the Pacific Alliance, and that means that Israel has found new trade partners. When one door closes another opens up. Israel is in the drivers seat, not Europe. Welcome to the 21st century.
