1. Everyday i cannot believe the hypocrisy of the situation
Brett L ,   JHB RSA   (02.13.14)
How is it that I read an article today about the palastinain soccer federation asking for Israel to be kicked out of FIFA, news reports about the human rights violations in Israel against those people, boycotts against "settlement" factories (I could go on for weeks), yet the world remains silent on the horrors in syria, lebanon. If the world showed as much vigour in condemning the syrians and the terrorist government, hizbulla and the thousands of people flying in via turkey to fight this war, there may be peace. However the world remains silent and i would say more the the 130 000 people have been slaughtered in this genocide!!
2. only the Syrians can end this war
zionist forever   (02.13.14)
This is a civil war not a war of aggression because Syria was invaded. The rebels will not end accept Assad as part of any future government and will keep fighting to topple him. Assad has no intention of going and will keep fighting unit he defeats the rebels. The isamist groups will not accept any solution that doesn't involve Syria becoming a Sharia state. Get rid of Assad the fighting will continue when rebel alliances end and they fight each other for control of the country. The can be no foreign military or political solution so they need to keep killing each other until one side admits defeat or they all decide to work out a political solution of their own.
3. #2 Only an Arab solution
David V. ,   Sydney   (02.14.14)
You are right, there is no possibility of peace when neither side will make concessions, but the Assad regime have committed an overwhelming majority of atrocities and cannot remain in power. Therefore it is entirely up to Arab states to intervene directly and ensure a new order can be established in Syria. Assad relies on collaborators like Hezbollah and PFLP-GC, who are even more brutal than the Syrian military.
