Meeting someone with a strong religious affiliation in UK is very rare - certainly not something that is discussed in polite society and definitely not in the work place. Is this a bad thing? Remember the US Jewish outcry over Israeli expat 'return to Israel' ads on YouTube? One ad showed how the boyfriend of "Dafna" doesn't understand why she's mourning on Yom Hazikaron. Another ad shows a Skype video call between a young girl and her parents in America speaking with her grandparents in Israel. A lit Chanukia clearly seen in the background. When the grandparents ask the girl if she knew what holiday it was, she responds "Christmas!" US pressure forced the Israeli government to end the advertising campaign but the underlying message a death by assimilation won't go away anytime soon.

I'm not pessimist , if they and we Jews had not disappeared in 4000 years, I do not think we will now. American Jews are proud of their heritage, may not be that religious, cause they are mostly Reform, but their identity is Jewish. And many support Israel.

Several years ago, the telephone company Bezek (then a monopoly) ran a series of local TV adds showing Israelis speaking from America to family back home (courtesy of Bezek, of course). One such commercial showed a happy Israeli family gabbing away on the phone in a typical American suburban home. Bezek was criticized for promoting yerida (emmigration) and the offending add was removed. It was replaced by a sad Israeli student celebrating his lonely birthday in a cold Boston tenement while his friends in Israel hold a party for him wishing him well by telephone.

Oh no! Jews having a Christmas tree! It's the end of the world! As for the rest, it's bordering on ridiculous. My thoughts: American Jews dont like the extremism of the orthodox so they join the Reform. I have seen chabad in Virginia talk bad about other jews, such European Jews, Lithuanian Jews, etc. I am a witness. -- Some jews intermarry to escape certain things that they dont like. One of the reasons for anti-Semitism in US, and not only there, might be the preference of many non-Jewish girls to potential Jewish grooms, on grounds elaborated in this article. This anti-Semitism is of course presented as motivated by other drives.

There are many reasons for this. JAPs can be difficult if not impossible to live with, for starters.

1]Liberal parents are stupid & often"don't want to interfere in their childrens' lives & do not cogently advise them. Grandparents have more experience than parents & can better advise their grandchildren, but are often kept out of that role by stupid liberal parents. Interfaith marriages(IMs) are less sturdy & more often break apart. Often there is tension between spouses parents & families(such as antisemitism) that puts pressure on IMs. After 1800 years of murders,expulsions,theft & church sexual perversion, chrustionity is not good enough to pass down to any child. One day it might change for the better. 2]There should be Jewish prominant universities in every state that are run by Jews & Jewish organisations. And every synagogue should submit their membership list to solicit members' children as Jewish fraternities/sororities, Hillel & so on does not isolate young Jews enough at public universities to overcome the lack of guidance by their stupid liberal families.3]The world is more peaceful with more Jews. In addition to the caring,nurturing character of Jewish parents, it is only the malevolent opportunistic nature of goyim that has immorally increased their number over ours.
