With all due respect to Denmark, and without accusations of anti-semitism, what I don't get is how kosher slaughter is deemed cruel by Denmark, but making a show of killing a healthy giraffe, and inviting children, among others, to view the "show", is considered ok.

Danes are good people, Denmark is a friendly country, and the accusations of anti-semitism are false. The Danes deserve and apology. Kosher slaughter wasn't singled out for banning and as Ambassador Vahr said no one will be hurt by the ban. Kosher slaughter is just innocent "collateral damage".

The remarks of some israeli government minister show only the complete ignorance whicch is fogging their heads. In denmark the change for kosher slaughtering is already practised for years. It has nothing ,but really nothing to do with "anti-semitismn". Scandinavia and other western countries are simply on a more advanced stage of development. The usual way is to give the animal an electric shock and then slit it's throat whilst it is unconscious or to put a bolt through it's head and slit it's throat whilst it is unconscious. The key being the animal is unconscious when it is killed
