It should also be mentioned that bilateral disagreements are part of any diplomatic/political arena, including the one between Israel and Germany. But there is one sentence in your Op-Ed that has to be addressed: "Germany and Europe are important partners that act decisively for Israel's legitimization and its right of existence." The sentence implies almost directly that there are states, nations and people who delegitimize Israel and drive to stop its existence. I am sure that you would agree that the priority is to expose and stop these entities by using the strongest means available before asking Israel to make any "...hard... decisions". This, Mr. Steinmeier, is a gross anomaly and highlights the fact that the heart-of the matter is not truly addressed. While any other state in the world receives "legitimization and its right of existence" as natural rights, Israel on the other hand has to make hard decisions to reach such straightforward status. Why?
