1. Wont do Iran any good: They'll still be annihilated
Shlomo   (02.25.14)
It wouldn't take too much to existentially threaten Israel - anything that vaguely resembles it will unleash nuclear - everyone knows that. Why dont the Iranians just stay home and build their country in peace? This is crazy.
2. Iran is doing an awful lot of blablabla...
Joe Fraser ,   Canada   (02.25.14)
Talk is cheap
3. I am SO impressed!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.25.14)
Anyone who thinks that an Israeli attack on Iran will be via sea and air exclusively doesn't know too much. Iran has the unfortunate distinction of sitting atop some of the most active -- and major -- fault lines on the globe. Contemplate the devastation that would ensue were a few specifically directed ultra low frequency waves to be launched against Iran. The technology is not complex. The far more difficult aspect is that there are only a handful of places on earth from where such waves can be launched. Once launched, they cannot be stopped. The Judean hills are the perfect terrain. Iran -- and some other places -- are extraordinarily fortunate that Israel continues to tolerate their excesses. They would be well advised to remember that no one's patience lasts forever. In the meantime, I'm absolutely loving the mental image of senior Iranian officials poring over maps of the destruction in Lebanon. Lookin' for love in all the wrong places ....
4. IRAN SCARED S------S
H ROSEN ,   PA U S A   (02.25.14)
THEY ARE SCARED OUT OF THEIR MINDS OF ISRAEL AND THE U S EVERY DAY IT'S ANOTHER FRANTIC ASSURANCE OF HOW GOOD THEY CAN HANDLE AN ATTACK OR HOW THEY WILL DESTROY THE U S NAVY. THESE ARE RANTINGS OF MEN IN FEAR OF THEIR EXISTANCES THEY ARE OUT TO KEEP THEIR COUNTRY ON AN EDGY WAR FOOTING KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IF THEY COULDN'T BEAT SADAAM HUSSEIN THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE OBLITERATED BY ISRAEL AND THE U S THE BAD THING IS THIS LEADS THEM TO THINK THAT THEY ARE TRULY INVINCIBLE AND ARE LIKELY TO MAKE A COSTLY BLUNDER AND WANDER INTO A WAR
5. Iran
ProphetS   (02.25.14)
Iran has not learned from the lessons of history. It will be doomed to repeat them. A huge nation bullying tiny Israel...and the huge nation bully will be reduced to ignominy.
6. Studying tactics from 2006 is about the same as...
Jacob E ,   Holon, Israel   (02.25.14)
Being happy that you just bought a Generation 1 iPhone. Ooooo good for you Iran. Now just figure out how to download the "Blame Israel" App and you'll be all set.
7. There is no doubt they studied
Ben ,   Chutzlaaretz   (02.25.14)
The Iranians would be fools not to study the Lebanon war and I am sure they reacted in their plans to Israeli strategy in that war. I am also sure that Israel and the US will adapt their strategy to whatever defenses they see in Iran. This is not new, every country does that in preparation. I think the fool talk-backers here are way too over confident with Israeli soldier's lives. Yes we have a smarter, better army, but underestimating your opponent is always dangerous. I am always annoyed with Foreign commentators so ready to put Israeli soldiers at harms way. I am confident in Tshal too, but that does not mean we assume some "invincible" attitude, because if we do, it will cost us.
8. And Israel stood still?
Michael Redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (02.25.14)
9. Ah yes prepare for fighting the last war
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.25.14)
This is why the Islamofascists fail. They can never create only react. That war was a different type compared to one fought at long distance. We have changed with the times, glad to know they are incapable
10. HELLOOOOO GENERAL...
les ,   canada   (02.25.14)
THIS IS 2 0 1 4.... i am sure the israeli tactics did not change or improved since then. but i would love to see your face, after most of your nuke sites are gone up in smoke :))
11. #3
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (02.25.14)
You are being delusional again, and hawkish. You are the type of jew that we don't want, and billions of others don't want either. I will give Iran a little leg up-have a look at some more recent pictures of invasions of Gaza-Operation Cant Lead, and Pillow of Defence. They might contain some more up to date of what the US supplied weapons did. BDS
12. Thank you #7
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (02.25.14)
Nicely Put.
13. Iran's military plans
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (02.25.14)
With Iran, "Israel" will face far more than its match and will surely lose. Ending the Zionist project now would save countless lives and dollars worth of property.
14. Iranians studied!!! Israel is lost!
Daniel ,   Netherlands   (02.25.14)
15. LOL, Unarmed protesters held Iranian military at bay in 2009
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.25.14)
16. I would expect as such
William ,   Israel   (02.25.14)
It would be irresponsible to NOT study the tactics of the other side. So in this case, Iran looked at the buildings used for Hizbullah infrastructure and targeted by Israel in 2006, and changed their tactics. Now they use residential homes all over the South, to house and fire rockets at Israel, and armed everyone with cameras to capture Israel's response and deliver it for a PR coup to Reuters, while the Hizbullah runs to caves and hospital basements for safety.
17. To no avail !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (02.25.14)
Iran will be helpess when Israel strikes !. Arn.Sweden.
18. logical to study not so logcal to tell everybody you studied
zionist forever   (02.25.14)
Studying the tactics used by an enemy in a previous war is just sound logic because you can prepare for if those tactics are used again in a future war. The stupid thing is telling the whole world you have been studying those tactics because then the enemy knows to do things different next time. So the advantage of studying is gone because the enemy knows you studied their previous tactics. Clever old Iran they love boasting so much they have let the IDF know not to use the same tactics a second time.
19. # 7 So you want to sit idly and sacrifice Israel instead?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.25.14)
Both Jews and friends of Israel - in Israel, and abroad, have EVERY right to comment on Israel's possible future response to Iran, since their intention is to protect Israel and benefit Israel's development - not harming Israel. Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people - both of those Jews who live in Israel and those who live abroad. Enough with this arrogant Sabra attitude. Israel is the homeland of ALL Jews - IN Israel and ABROAD. We are ALL Jews - Sabras and those who aren't. And since Israel's existence is at stake, and since Israel's well being is intimately connected to most Jews around the world, your comment is extremely arrogant, since you are refusing to accept your fellow Jewish brothers and sisters abroad, who only have ONE homeland that they identify themselves with, and that's Israel. Of course Israeli soldiers are not invincible, but neither are Iranian or Arab soldiers. It's strange that you attach human limitations ONLY to Jews/Israelis but seem indifferent to 1) the Iranian threat and 2) Israel's de facto superior military capacity. Nobody says that Israel should "sacrifice" its soldiers, but you can't have a military solution without soldiers and military technology. I'd guess it's a lot better to just let Iran nuke and kill 6 million Jews in Israel so that the lives of Israeli soldiers' won't be risked - right? I mean why risk the lives of Israeli soldiers? Why not risk all of Israel alltogether? Your defeatist attitude is EXACTLY what has cost Israel lives, money and military and political victories. The fear of taking any action at all means the entire country's existence is in peril. The only "fool-talkbacker" is you. If Israel doesn't strike against Iran, then there won't be an Israel that IDF can defend. I hope you understand this simple and fundamental fact.
20. Israeli and Iranian war
Harold ,   USA   (02.25.14)
If war takes place both Israel and Iran will be distructed but Israel more due to its small area. Some commentators are war mongers and they don't know what they are taling about.
21. Iran
Adel Darwish ,   Uk London   (02.25.14)
They will much next time
22. To nr 20 - You don't know what you are talking about
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.25.14)
Harold, I suggest you Google this: "AlJazeera Iran and Israel comparing military Machines". There you'll find out that not only does Israel have nuclear weapons and Iran doesn't (so much for your theory talkback nr 7), Israel is also SUPERIOR to Iran in terms of 1) military technology 2) training and 3) quantity of military equipment on almost every issue: Israel has got more than 3000 tanks-mainly 441 Merkava Mkl, 455 Merkava Mkll, 454 Merkava Mklll, 175 MklV and 206 Centurion Models. Iran has got 1613 tanks - mostly old and aging military equpment, such as some 100 locally produced Zulfiqar, about 100 ageing British made Chieftain Mk3 and Mk5 models obtained Before the 1979 revolution, alongside 150 US made M-60 A1s - as well as 480 Soviet designed T-72 tanks and 540 T-54/T-55 models. If you read the diagram, Israel has twice as many tanks as Iran and the Israeli air force, which is the most lethal and modern air force in the world alongside USA, is twice as large as the outdated and oldfashioned Iranian air force. Even by conventional means, Iran is no match for Israel. This is no hysterical chauvinist nationalistic bravado - just cold and hard military data.
23. #22, waste of time, that knuckle head will never get it
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.25.14)
24. #11 "Pillow of Defence" LOL
Cynthia ,   USA   (02.25.14)
You're obviously not paying attention. Unlike Iran's weekly dog and pony show, the Israelis do not reveal their military assets. And even if the Iranians watch old videos, the technology changes.
25. #22 Alexander
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (02.25.14)
You want to attack Iran with main battle tanks? Interesting.
26. #20 Harold
Van Harris ,   Belgium   (02.26.14)
I assure you Harold that Netenyahu knows what you are talking about and that is why he limits actions to barking...
27. #3 man cannot set off an earthquake.
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (02.26.14)
you forget how puny you are, son of man. Or, maybe, Sarah, you are warning about divine intervention. This is a lot more likely.
28. #22
Harold ,   USA   (02.26.14)
It is time to display tanks in museums. Now it is Missiles and drones age. Do you have museums that can store and display all the tanks Israel and Iran has or may be can be melted to make shaving blades.;
29. To nr 25 Albrecht: No, missiles and planes would do the job
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.26.14)
"You want to attack Iran with main battle tanks? Interesting. " I think it's very interesting that you are putting words into my mouth, claiming that I intend something that I don't intend. Where exactly did I write that I want to attack Iran with main battle tanks? Show me the exact phrase in my talkback where I explicitly stated that I wish to attack Iran with main battle tanks? Point it out. Because you won't find it. Are you making a deliberate effort to "misunderstand" me or do you have a very poor reading comprehension? It's amazing how many times talkbackers "misunderstand" every word in every talkback by every talkbacker. Me referring to main battle tanks is simple meant to make people understand that if Iran would attempt a land invasion of Israel through Iraq and Jordan, that too will fail. That's why I mentioned the main battle tanks.
