2. One last chance. Then what?
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.03.14)
Mr. Obama, your response, please.
3. Last chance
A V ,   London UK   (03.03.14)
We should have more trust in Putin than Obama 'with Putin you are in the real world
4. Obama- Netanyahu
v schecte4r ,   israel   (03.03.14)
Netanyahu must answer to the People of Israel first. I am glad he is prioritizing, despite the intense pressures being applied.
5. Obama is Israel's foe. Not Israel's boss.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.03.14)
Azoulay writes nothing but inane fawning articles about Obama. Obama is Israel's foe. Not Israel's boss. Israel didn't vote for Obama. Obama is America's problem and most Americans know it.
6. Bibi help make our future & not history
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (03.03.14)
The people of the Jewish State of Israel elected Bibi through a democratic procress, does that still hold currency with the present US government? If it does, then please be aware that Bibi also represents our own position on what's best for our future. So all that cheap hype encouraging our PM to go down in history is less important to us than Bibi helping us to enjoy a future. With due regards to the present US administration, we don't see that future being dictated to us from those dedicated to our destruction...please refer to the PA charter!
7. Reasons for no Preperation
Rube Vogel ,   Jerusalem   (03.04.14)
1) The majority of the Israeli public understand what is going on. There is no need to "prepare" them. It will not change the ultimate reaction - only hasten it. 2) Netanyahu does not believe Abbas will accept any peace worthy of being called a peace and he will not accept anything less.
8. I would like to know ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.04.14)
.... what, if any demands, the United States has made of Abbas. Oh, that's right! They haven't.
9. Will need one hundred thousand Troops
Zechariah   (03.04.14)
It will need a force of one hundred thousand international troops mainly USA NAto and ExIDF to secure the Truce .No Islamic Califati or Fatah Ba'ath Nationalists or Holocaust Deniers .Will the Palestinians accept such Restrictions in a Framework Really Interim Deal.
10. Netanyahu and Israel
Nadya ,   California, USA   (03.04.14)
The US needs to let Israel make her own decisions, but also make it very clear that the US is not responsible for those decisions and will not defend anything that does not serve our best interests; That would include our veto at the UN.
11. Last Chance?
Tom ,   Toronto Canada   (03.04.14)
At What exactly . What has Abbas offered and how has he prepared his public,? Nothing at all. Abbas has made No absolutely no compromise. Read what Abbas Mr Holocaust denier says in Arabic . Last chance at what ?
12. I certainly hope ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.04.14)
.... that the incredibly arrogant Ms. Azoulay is correct. Let Obama tear the "mask" off Netanyahu's face. Then Netanyahu will reveal the proof that Israel has of Obama's birth in Kenya. Just what the United States needs -- maybe Putin will take the opportunity of a staggered and reeling United States to reacquire six or seven more former republics. Be careful what you wish for, Ms. Azoulay. The "Palestine" Authority is pretty good at issuing demands; considerably less good at making concessions. Israel has red lines, too.
13. We Don't Work for Obama
A Simple Jew ,   Beer Sheva   (03.04.14)
Israel is neither a colony or vassal of the United States. We don't owe anything to Obama, who sat in Reverend Wright's church for 20 years and listened to anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism every Sunday.
14. Pull whose mask off, Abbas, the terrorist or Netanyahu the
r ,   Atlanta   (03.04.14)
MIT grad who was a soldier. It is easy for a Obama to accuse others but he never served in US military.
15. Sick nonsense
laura j ,   USA   (03.04.14)
Bibi isn't wearing a mask. He won't commit Israel to commit suicide to please Obama. And Obama will never have the support of Congress to betray Israel, even if he was in a strong position, which he is not. Putin (declared enemy of the U.S.) is not afraid of Obama. Assad (declared enemy of the U.S.) is not afraid of Obama. Khamenei (declared enemy of the U.S.) is not afraid of Obama. But Bibi (staunch ally of the U.S.) should be?
16. The author would be a great script writer
michael   (03.04.14)
for dark humor comedy movies.
17. Obama and peace
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (03.04.14)
I, like many, do not believe that Obama understands politics in the Middle-East. He has screwed up in Iran and Egypt. He has messed up in Syria. He leaves a mess in Iraq and Afghanistan. After an impressive performance like this can anyone believe he knows what is best for Israel? The proposals that Kerry has put forth are ones based on nonsense and misunderstandings. If Obama can restore the lost respect that the world once had for America, we might have faith in him, but instead, the world laughs at America as they sink deeper into economic lows and their military might is a joke to all counties. Are we to put our dependence on what was once a super power that is guided by a pea brain?
18. Netanyahu's "fancy" words vs. Abbas' simple words
Logic ,   Israel   (03.04.14)
Abbas wants total victory (the so-called "right" of return) and there are no signs of change on that front. He keeps saying it in Arabic. What's so difficult to understand after hearing the translation?
19. ...this time Obama intends to tear it off his face...?"
Jack B. ,   USA   (03.04.14)
Give me a break! Obama is a weak-kneed punk--period. He's a little boy trying to do a man's job, which he has failed miserably at! Israel should be thankful they have a real-leader and not the phony-in-chief we have here! God bless Israel!
20. Last chance ?!
yosef, phd ,   florida - israel   (03.04.14)
That arrogant closet Muslim - the least qualified U.S.president in history - has the nerve to dictate the Israeli P.M. about the future, the very survival of the Jewish state ?! And our local "authority" Orly Azoulay sounds like a certified moron and an embarassment even to a provincial mass media source, such as this Ynet.
21. Blind,deaf and. Closed mind
Dante ,   Malibu,CA   (03.04.14)
The guy is blind to the changing reality Deaf to all the appeals to open his mind and heart to a better future. This is not going away and the price will keep going up. Find a way to make it happened. And stop the race to the lowest common denominator with the political and religious right , that is why u r the PM to lead and find new and better ways for Israel.
22. One Last Chance Ridiculous notion
Zechariah   (03.04.14)
There is still a lot of room for compromise but both sides are not ready .Both centrists are under Pressure from a Substantial Hard Right Avengers or AntiInternationalists .Since the Jews are in the minority and have suffered Horrific Demographic Losses they Have to Control Security .
23. YEEAAHHH the blah, blah will soon come
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.04.14)
to an end !
24. Stand strong, Bibi, Only 24 months left of Obama
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (03.04.14)
"If an agreement isn't reached this time, there will be no other opportunity, certainly not during his term." YES! Hang on Israel along with the rest of us U.S. Patriots/Israel-supporters, until 2016: when we may at last, vote in a Real Leader. AM YISRAEL CHAI!
25. no chance
Zsolt ,   Wanganui,NZ   (03.05.14)
It seems to me nobody is giving anybody a chance. The great American "peace broker" travels from house to house to sell the best ever peace plan, as if there was some new secret deal nobody ever thought before. Until all the regional nations and their global supporters sit down around a round table to discuss a regional peace accord, including the global, undisputed acceptance of Israel's right to exist as a Jewish nation, and the whole global community commits to safeguard the subsequent agreement, there is nothing to talk about. As the Ukrainian crisis also shows today there are no "two-state" conflicts, in a global world, where everybody is interconnected and interdependent all directly or indirectly affected parties would need to be involved in negotiations and agreements for it to hold. The "old school", polarized politics, worldview has expired, we are in a totally new mutual paradigm today.
26. No, it's Obama's last chance
Shalom ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (03.05.14)
after his foreign policy has failed in every other area. Indeed, that is what the article itself tells us; it's just the title of the article that needs to be changed.
27. Bibi giving Obama One more Last Chance
zoro ,   israel   (03.05.14)
ha.ha..ha, Bibi, can you please make an offer to Obama, but the Last one...? I think the time came for Israel to switch Powers. Putin and Russia Today what was America yesterday. Russia has as many influential Jewish Minds as US. Russia also has Christian Evangelicals. Russia has also many friends of Israel, that Israel is not aware of. Israel can help Russia build their HiTech, although I'm sure it exists and is much more developed that everybody think. WHY? Because Russia doesn't like to brag about that. US likes to show off everything it has. And one more reason to swing the direction: MOST Jewish ROOTS are in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania. Jewish American roots, Jewish French roots, Jewish UK roots, Jewish Israeli roots... How many American Jews do we have in Israel ? Maybe 100,000 or 200,000..not more. How many Russian-Lithuanian-Ukrainian-Belarusian Jews are in Israel ? Probably at least 60%. So, where there is more potential influence and power lies? No Doubt - Russia.
28. Israel's main concern shouldn't be "peace" with..
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.05.14)
...its Moslem neighbors. Israel's main concern should be Jewish values and a Jewish national identity, a Jewish Israel - ethnically, demographically, nationally, religiously, culturally and spiritually, and Israeli/Jewish geo-political concerns and interests as well. Israel needs a Jewish character and Israel needs land - lots of land, and Israel need raw scientific, demographic, academic, intellectual, spiritual, industrial, technological, military and economic strength - not "peace treaties". Israel needs to emulate Russia to a certain extent - not Russia's despotism but rather Russia's brutal confrontation with its enemies. Israel needs to take off its gloves with regards to its Moslem neighbors and Israel needs to stop abide by international law. Israel doesn't violate international law but is frequently and baselessly accused of violating international law. If USA, Russia and the Arab states and Iran can violate international law, why can't Israel? Are they any better than us? And by the way, the "world" doesn't respect international law anyway and the "world" doesn't respect the legally binding treaties called the San Remo treaty and the Anglo-American treaty that give Israel 100% exclusive legal rights and national rights to Cis-Jordan and Trans-Jordan. If the biased and prejudiced global political community (I'm referring to its leaders) uses international law as a sacred "absolute" against Israel only to blackmail Israel into submission and national self-destruction, but systematically and categorically ignores the very same international law that gives Israel legal rights to its land, why should Israel abide by international law? My point is that Israel should use every single option available to stop immediate and future threats against Jews/Israelis - EVEN if that means that Israel needs to use brute military force, violate the independence of its neighbors and even destroy them completely. I can honestly say - and I speak only for myself and not for Israel and the Jewish people, that I don't give a rats ass about international law, because its man made, no man stands above anyone else, and the "world" arbitrarily abides by it and violates it, as they see it fit. No more "Peace talks", and more hysterical baseless accusations of Israel "violating" "international law". "International law" doesn't exist. But our national interests exist and so do our enemies. Let IDF speak to the Moslems of the Middle East instead of Lapid, Livni, Peres or any other "genius" in our political elite.
