1. My advice to both sides
(03.04.14)
The former Ukrain should be divided. Krimea, Kharkov, Odessa, and Kiev should remain Christian Orthodox republic associated with Russia. Liviv, Uzgorod, Mukachevo should be made half Orthodox and half Catolic. In fact, educated Catolics already speak Polish, and they will be able to work in Poland if they wish.
2. The good Rabbi like Rabbis of old wants to keep
Al   (03.04.14)
the Jews in the Ukraine, so he provides burial courses. Yes indeed they will be a great career move for any young Jew in the Ukraine. Rabbi Dummy, get it through your dumb head, there is no future for Jews in the golus. I wish that the misguided Jewish philanthropists who sponsor this nonsense, would understand that sponsoring continued Jewish habitation in the former Soviet Union is a terrible mistake. The future is in Israel and those who refuse to see this and move there will always be on the short end of the stick. They will always be subjected to the whims of the goyim. The only future for the Jew in the Ukraine as well as anywhere in the FSU is in Israel.
3. Why can't the Jews buy a clue....
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.04.14)
You are waiting to get injured or be killed.... YOU ARE LUNATICS>>> What the hell is wrong with you people? 100s of thousands of Jews were MURDERED on that God forsaken land. Have you no sense of self preservation? Have you no SHAME for living on that God forsaken land. The pain is going to get severe and you are not going to be safe. Know this, especially the religious. ALL OF THIS MADNESS IS FOR YOR BENEFIT. It is a clear message and directive from Hashem that you need to leave that God forsaken land. You are going against His Will and you will LOSE... He will let many of you die and suffer for your stubborness. The same will soon apply to the rest odf the Jews in the galut. Especially to the Jews of America and Canada.... You to are stubborn and spoiled fools.

Kolboynik ,   Baltimore, MD   (03.04.14)
Please post this, so there is a balance>>The Jews from Ukraine already know whats its like to be treated as a 2nd class citizen when living in Israel. No racism in Israel? Think again!! -- In Israel you also have problems with the secular not getting along with Haredim,etc,etc..

11. "reliable" sources?
shloime ,   toronto, canada   (03.04.14)
neither of the students that this article quotes have had first-hand knowledge of the situation, but rely instead on the (controlled) media, whether russian- or ukranian-controlled - they are both partisan. simply living in the ukraine doesn't make their hearsay any more credible than if they were watching the news from tel aviv. (at least not when they are talking about events in other cities.)
12. Back in the USSR
Nick Smith ,   Oxford, UK   (03.04.14)
I hope that the non-Russian minorties of the Crimea like the Rabbi and his good people are safe, and remain so. I'm not sure what the future holds from them though. Putin is very clear about the rights of 'Russian's' being his first concern, though quite what will happen to anyone not considered a Russian is unclear. In the days of the Soviet Union entire ethnic groups were moved on mass deep into Russia or distant Siberia. There was even a 'Homeland of the Jews' build in some godless part of distant Russian (you can read about it on Wikipedia if you want) but these days not a single jewish person lives there. Combined with the fact 1 million jews left Russia in the 1990s to got to the USA and Israel, this leads me to think that Life under Moscow's Rules was not that good for Jewish people.

14. Don't worry......
koose e mack ,   ny usa   (03.04.14)
I don't think Putin will back down. I have a feeling that Crimea will be permanently annexed to the Russian Fed. without a shot being fired.

16. If I was living in Kiev, I'd move Today to Crimea or Odessa
zoro ,   israel   (03.05.14)
Just to remind everybody who have some "sympathy" or support for Ukrainians. Ukrainians were the the most exciting supporters of NAZIS. On June 23 when German troops entered Kiev, they were greeted by Hundreds of thousands ukrainians with flowers, hugs and kisses. Ukrainians were the guards in nazi concentration camps. There were whole units in german army with Ukrainians only. OBAMA doesn't know that, because his advisors don't tell him. If he knew that, he would understand the situation much better.
17. How big is Crimea?
Nora Tel Aviv   (03.06.14)
Almost as big as Israel. (Wikipedia). Crimea= 26.200 square km. Israel = 27.000 square km.
