I seriously doubt the authenticity of this operation. Iran would have already learned from past attempts to not ship missiles in open sea like that and it might be an Israeli false flag op designated to shift the world´s opinion against Iran in a time when relations between Iran and the west are warming up. The timing looks suspicious to me.

International right is very clear. No army can intervene in international waters on ships that aren't registered in the same army's country. Otherwise said, Israel army can only intervene on Israeli ships in international waters.
