True, Israel is a regional power. But it has no power vs Iran. If it could bomb Iran it would have done so years ago. The U.S. has withheld the big bunker buster bombs capable of getting to Fordow's inner core where the centrifuges are spinning. Furthermore, as people forget, an attack on Iran is not just a bombing campaign. Iran will retaliate in the Persian Gulf. And what can Israel's navy do there? Israel's navy is a laughable joke. Only the U.S. can secure the sea lanes, so Israel knows that if it attacks Iran without American disapproval, it can kiss the "special relationship"(funded by AIPAC) goodbye. Is Yaalon right that Israel can't outsource its security to other countries, including America? Yes, he is. But does he have any realistic option to stopping Iran on Israel's own volition? Of course not. He is a powerless figure, along with Israel's military, to stop Iran. And that's not something that's good. A nuclear Iran is bad for everyone except them.
