1. burp, wha??
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (03.19.14)
like a female? ho ho ho! just because he puts that stupid looking hair piece on his head, like many of the other yeshiva people in Jerusalem and Bnai Brak does he look like a lady? It is because those who hate him look for something negative to say about him, He is NOT wearing a dress which would be like a lady, he has a stupid thing on his head, maybe he thinks he is a hippie??
2. What is ynets source
Mordechai   (03.19.14)
I am no fan of the haredim but what is the reporters source for all his complaints about the haredim. Its quite unlikely any ashkenazi haredi would care what the Sephardi Rav Yosef says to complain against Rav Stav as no charedi Ashkenazi would ever care what a Sephardi Rabbi ruled on an issue. Ashkenazi Poskim are divided on this issue and some do allow men to dress as women.
3. A wig is not a dress.

4. I don't think anyone cares
S Judah ,   Jerusalem   (03.19.14)
In reality no Sephardim or anyone in Shas cares whether Rav Stav went about prancing in high heels and nor do the Haredim. There are many more important issues at hand then this silliness.

You mean that people have to have permission regarding what to wear? Why? What gives rabbis such authority? Who cares if a person wears a wig (only that the sex was wrong)? Was anyone harmed by it? What we are speaking of here is decided on earth, by meddling, dictating busybodies. That people take them seriously is mindboggling.
6. Then the Daati Leumi wonder why Stav wasn't elected
Sam ,   PT   (03.20.14)
as Chief Rabbi. If he wants to be a Chief Rabbi or even a Rabbi, he has to act like one.
7. Very entertaining, what's the fuss about?

8. Stringencies for oneself
Joseph ,   London England   (03.21.14)
Although it is considered wrong for a man to dress as a woman even on Purim, his heavy beard suggests to all but the most drunk that he is really a man. Regarding Halacha and the less observant public, one should be stringent for oneself and lenient in dealing with the public, letting them decide if they want to accept any stringencies.
9. #5 Religious Jews follow Halacha
Mordechai   (03.22.14)
Rav Stav himself agrees that Jews have to obey Jewish law. No one really cares what a non Jew from Norway thinks of this issue. Judaism, the Torah does control the life of religious Jews. I understand those who are not observant disagree with this idea but Rav Stav is a part of the Torah observant world and rejects your idea of do what you want. I doubt very many haredim have seen or care about this video. Rav Stav certainly isn't worried what the haredim think of him. Nothing very newsworthy here
10. Reply to number 5. Crossdressing
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (03.23.14)
There is a clear Biblical prohibition on men dressing as women or women dressng as men, that it may lead to immorality. Obviously with his beard there there is no problem but a teenage boy dressed attractively as a girl could cause problems when other teenage boys have had too much to drink on Purim.
11. the problem with rabbi stav
david ,   new york   (04.08.14)
he doesnt act appropriately for someone who was going to be chief rabbi of israel. now, dressing up on purim is all fine and good, but the rosh yeshiva doesnt dress up and definately not as a woman. it doesnt help that he is known as a liberal (ynet calls it "moderate", but that's just because they're ynet) one begins to question whether this guy is really trustworthy as a jewish religious leader
