1. Iranians respect history?
Maurie ,   Montreal   (03.20.14)
How can he say that when Ahmadinejad and others there deny the Holocaust?

I agree with you. I think Peres is showing goodwill here. But in the face of evil good will should have its limits. Peres is a good man, but losing credibility by making untrue statements like that.
3. How silly. Iran will only interpret this with conceit.
Adi ,   Zurich   (03.20.14)
How silly. Iran will only interpret this with conceit.
4. #1 Mauri: 'Iranians' yes. But not their outdated regime.
GS ,   Germany   (03.20.14)
5. Only in Israel, only by Shimon, the demented "dreamer"!

So you trust the "new" regime? Do you really think there was regime change since Ahmadinejad left? The head of the regime is the Ayatollah in Iran and there was no change there. It is still the same Jew and Israel hating, Holocaust denying evil regime.
7. #6 Maurie: I do not trust their regime.
GS ,   Germany   (03.20.14)
There always was and still is a huge difference between the old and new bloodthirsty regime of Iran and their friendly inhabitants. They, the peopld of Iran in the country and worldwide (think of their huge community in L.A., for example), deserve the best. The very best. Why not greet THEM? Whether I like Mr. Peres or not: He did right to greet the persian community. / Can't wait to see Iran free from dictatorship.
8. How cute!
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (03.20.14)
The president of Israel, the entity that pushes to a war against Iran and sponsors the murder of Iranian scientists, wishes the Iranian nation a Happy New Year, in Persian no less!
9. Thank You!
JN ,   New York, NY   (03.20.14)
As a common Persian, thank you for your message, it does carry weight for us and truly puts one thing in perspective - we are all just humans. Happy Purim to you all as well.
10. New Years Greeting
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln,USA   (03.20.14)
Count your days wisely. We're coming! Have a nice new year.
11. Thank you President Peres for
Erin ,   USA   (03.20.14)
Bringing to mind something very important and close to my heart- peace. For the Middle East to have peace, there needs to be mutual respect, and I want to say this next part out of the depths of my heart where Abba' Spirit has been working on. Jerusalem is one city, as I am one person but also as I am one person that Father has Called to care forthe world-the entire globe, so also is Jerusalem a city He wants to care for the world- the entire globe, it should be the safest place in the world and a placeall people and races can enter into,I don't know how to say this clearly to you in one sentence, but in short, Abba wants it to be One city, His, with One mind, which is to say everyone is of One accord, and it fosters goodwill and sanctuary to everyone who comes-we are not there yet, but I see Israel as an international city that remains special amongst other cities, so we must find a way to meet Abba's needs and have peace with everyone nearby-that's why when I say the Palestinian Authority andIsrael just decide, just them alone, must decide the fate of Jerusalem, I mean it because this is what Father wants-no more 'breaking up the baby of the two mothers'; we need to have peace which means the PA and Israel must agree on every detail-i am willing to sit in on negotiations to be of good cheer, but even I cannot affect the outcome-this is called love, and love must bring this home. Do you understand? This is God's way-we mustreach much higher to be in one Accord with Him. Please find a way to live in Jerusalem in a way He wants you to keep it for Him. Thank you, I am happy to help in any way I can, but I am to sit and wait for HaShem to bring both of you together on this item. I love you, but I must obey my Father in Heaven. Please try to get along somehow. President Peres is right-if both peoples want peace both peoples will find a way. Thank you again.peace be with you every day in every way.
12. Hurrah
Mark ,   London, UK   (03.20.14)
Jewish people have a great shared history with Iran. it's sad that they have allied themselves with Arabs new boys on the block, with whom they have had, and still have, centuries of conflict. With the Jews they can be sure of a steadfast friend putting religious differences aside in favour of a much longer shared history. It is not unwise to remember the past.
