1. Lapid
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (03.23.14)
Lapid has created a disaster with his criminalisation of yeshivah students and has failed to fulfill his commitments on the cost of living which affects the whole of Israeli society. Before he was even sworn in as an MK he announced he would be the next PM. How immodest is that?
2. The pot hasn'f fully bloomed, yet.
Miron ,   USA   (03.23.14)
You might want to wait a few months... or you can have a lot of very unhappy addicts in the same place without a fix. And it doesn't look pretty.
3. Stop waisting your money on settlements
Harri ,   EU   (03.23.14)
Stop waisting your money on settlements and you will have great standard of living. You have great GDP and you get more support from US than any country. You should do much better.
4. I am against "decent living" on government daugh.
Miron ,   USA   (03.23.14)
Government officials are very low paid people, by the way. Besides, feel free to take the rage out. Might it be Knesset can make for a wonderful night time sleeping quarters of those with no means, but I can assure you, it's restrooms are not up to the task of servicing everyone wishing to indulge.
5. #4 not in Israel
(03.23.14)
Maybe in the US government officials are low paid. In Israel government are extremely well paid. There is one very simple step that could be taken that could help the poor: cap government pension payments to any one individual to no more than 30,000 NIS per month. There is no "pensioner" who needs more, certainly not one who was rich when he worked or one who is still earning money.
6. money
alex   (03.23.14)
There is no God but money. Otherwise, why do you ask for them? Losers?
7. I don't understand what's the matter?
Billy Billionaire ,   Kesarya   (03.23.14)
If my workers don't have cottage cheese, why don't they buy a cheesecake? You can get some really nice ones flown in directly from New York, my man in the kitchen orders some for us whenever we like.
8. That's why we just left
Gil ,   London (was TelAviv)   (03.23.14)
Prices for food and rent in Tel Aviv are absurd. London is now cheaper and that's why my little family has just left. Plus salaries far higher in booming London, it's a no brainer. The Israeli govt leaches off its citizens sucking the tax out of them. Unless you are Haredi claiming benefits and fiddling the system or belong to a billionaire family cartel, then they'll bleed you dry. It's not Zionism it's Greedism. So sad. It's not the same Israel I arrived to in 2006.
9. Simple solution
Ronfeld ,   Hod Hasharon ,Israel   (03.23.14)
The country need apartments with one or 2 rooms. A young couple can affort a very small flat and 5 years later when they have 2 children can transfer the morgage to a bigger one.. There are vested interests against this. But dozens of flats in Tel Aviv have been illigally split up and rented out, making windfall profits.
10. Where is the money spared from
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (03.23.14)
the Haredim receiving less? Obviously, not in the middle class pockets as Lapid's voters hoped. If you curse Tora students don't expect to be blessed. This will not happen. But if you bless them, you will be blessed. That's why there are so many tycoons who help them.
11. 3-we do much better than the uk
look at the mirror   (03.23.14)
Young people in London can't afford to buy a house. Israel has shrinking debt and the economy grows fast. Israel's GDP per capita is higher than the EU average.
12. 11
Gil ,   London   (03.24.14)
Israel's economy growth doesn't benefit citizens only the wealthy. Whereas in London they already realise that low cost shopping options are essential so supermarket shopping is a pleasure not a terrorist experience. Good luck in Super Baba, Supersal and AMPM as they suck your wallet dry. UK govt offers 20% towards first time buyers first home. UK is a winner.
13. 11 - i thought De Nile was a river in Egypt...
