1. Fire them all immediately!
Haim ,   Tel Aviv   (03.23.14)
Reckless, selfish free loaders who put themselves above the well being and security of Israel's citizens. When will government workers learn that they are civil servants? If they want to earn what public sector employees get, that should have thought about that before signing on. I hope Lieberman publishes exactly what these parasites are earning so everyone will realize how absurd their case is. Thousands of under and unemployed individuals would be willing to trade places with these "Ochle-chinam" tomorrow.
2. diplomats fighting for Israelis day-by-day, ho
happysettler   (03.23.14)
This really males me weep :)- These guys spend most of their day trying to figure out how to get an extra buck into their budgets for all sorts of things- and calculating how much they will have in their little nest eggs before they go back to Israel -
3. corrupt
Mike ,   TLV Israel   (03.23.14)
Blieberman should resign immediately for his failure to run his dept. he is a greedy corrupt slime ball lining his and his cronies pockets, enough just leave!

Dennis Greenstein ,   Marlton, NJ   (03.23.14)
Had to deal with these miserable people when renewing my wifes Isaraeli passport a few weeks ago. They were (both people I spoke with) arrogant and downright insulting. All because the link on their webiste was broken, and I needed a form. I prev had met a lot of the emabassy folks in DC, years ago. All they talked about was shopping and travelling (on the US Military' dime, believe it or not!) around the States. I told them they ddnt need an Ambassador; they needed a Travel Agent...Do like Reagan did with the AT Controllers: fire them and replace them all.
5. Fire the workers and their slob Minister immediately !!!
Michael ,   California, USA   (03.23.14)
The Foreign Minister should be a professional, the workers should understand that government can NEVER strike. Like in America.

Min. of Ed. - refused to count 7 years of teaching abroad (full time)for "VETEK." MFA FORGOT to either pay bituach leumi for me or advise my husband to pay. THIS STRIKE IS THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN, Want to meet me LIEBERMAN??????????
14. no sympathy for these people
CJK   (03.23.14)
i cannot think of any other country where the entire foreign ministry shuts down due to a labour despute. these people are endangering the country. they are endangering the country and its citizens at a particularly difficult time for the jewish state. one wonders whether they work for the jewish state of israel or whether they work for their bureacracy.
15. But the banks bailout Bibi's cronies.
David ,   Hartford USA   (03.23.14)
Forgive hundreds of millions in debts gone bad for Israel's "elite" businessmen and screw the small account holders. Israel should increase taxes on banks and millionaires and pay diplomats a fair wage. I said FAIR, not the outrageous salaries the MKs draw for basically playing with themselves in public.
16. So fire them
Mordechai   (03.23.14)
Simple fire them. Cancel their diplomatic visas and as they no longer work for the state they are responsible for their plane tickets home. We have enough Israelis who need better jobs to replace them.
17. #9 What do the "pesky terrorists" have to do to convince you
A ,   Belgium   (03.23.14)
that they are terrorists, Kowalsky? Smear the blood of their victims in your polakius ignoramius face?

Do u remember lapid slogan where is the money? Well forget the slogan. If are trying to boycott europeans they will let you know
19. labour shut down
Brian ,   Safed, Israel   (03.23.14)
This article is wrong as Israeli embassies were ALREADY shut down in 2012, from June to August or about 3 months. months due to a labour dispute. Fairness is needed because so many people depend on the services provided but also incomes that affect the familes.
20. Lazy overpaid bureaucunts
Leon   (03.24.14)
Shoot them now
21. Parazitim- fire them all!!!
Oded   (03.23.14)

Alan - Mérida ,   Merida, Mexico   (03.24.14)
No salary adjustment for inflation in 10 years, what!? Sorry, all of the know nothins who are so quick to call the MFA diplomats "lazy" or "overpaid." If around the world, MFA staff is on strike, this is not an isolated labor issue, rather there is something rotten in the administration and financing of the MFA. Effective diplomatic representation for Israel is not a luxury item, it is essential to the state of Israel and should be receive the requisite societal and financial backing. I has the pleasure of meeting Israeli dipomatic colleagues during my own service with the U.S. State Dept. and I know what it is like to be miscast as pinstriped bums. From what I witnessed, MFA folks worked hard on behalf of Israel.
23. @22 gracias (thank you)
(03.24.14)
24. to all TBers NIS 18,000 = USD 5000 a month
Sally Forth ,   Israel   (03.24.14)
that's the salary a serving ambassador makes. From that she/he needs to run a household including all hosting expenses. To the TBers FYI the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry pays its ambassadors twice as much plus benefits!
25. Good for them
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (03.24.14)
The more junior staff get lousy wages and can hardly support themselves and their families. Obviously they have been pushed to their limits and have nothing to lose.
26. # 16
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.24.14)
You seem to forget that these people have been especially selected and trained to do their job. Not all of them can be replaced by" regular Joes"as you seem to think [simplistically]. These people deserve at least a liveable wage.
