31. #17: 'Crucified' (sic)?
GS ,   Germany   (03.25.14)
You mean Jesus Christ? In the State of Israel, Dorothea, you don't have to hide your faith. See: Mr. Abrae.
32. I hope
(03.25.14)
He has both new testament and old testament bible to read and may his God bless him.
33. religion
chana abraham ,   givatayim, israel   (03.25.14)
If they are christians its not so bad, but most of them are muslims. They shouldnt come to Israel, go to some muslim country
34. Go to Saudi, The Land of Freedom
Steve bin Donkey ,   Silver Barn, MN USA   (03.25.14)
Why didn't he go to Saudi? It's closer to Eritrea and there is more money there. AND it is the land of absolute religious freedom. Over there he can hang all the crosses he wants to. "There is no compulsion in religion."
35. Double Standard
Yisroel ,   USA   (03.25.14)
If this had happened to a Jew seeking asylum in another country, it would cause an outcry in the Jewish community. Why couldn't they just leave the man and his religious pictures alone? The system of processing asylum claimants in Israel is dehumanizing enough.
36. #25: Not about religion. Read the article again, please.
GS ,   Germany   (03.25.14)
37. If Mr. Abrae is a Christian...
GS ,   Germany   (03.25.14)
Where is his Bible?
38. Does it make sense to forbid the hanging of pictures?
Noa ,   B7   (03.25.14)
It does not. And if it does not, it is cruelty. 2. If it was for Sarah B. and the like, Israel would be emptied out by now. Everyone who does not fit her world view has to leave - for shame!
39. #35 Pictures of ANY kind
GS ,   Germany   (03.25.14)
The facility provides freedom of religion, but bans hanging of pictures of ANY kind.
40. #38 Yes, it makes sense in a NEW facility.
GS ,   Germany   (03.25.14)
41. All pictures of ANY kind are banned.
Jo   (03.25.14)
This is not about discrimination of religion........it is just a policy on pictures which includes any kind of pictures,,, movie stars, decorative, posters and whatever , the content is an irrelevant issue. This is not a freedom of religious expression issue.
42. NO PICS ON WALLS IN MY APT EITHER
Netanya ,   Netanya   (03.25.14)
SINCE I AM SICK AND TIRED OF PATCHING UP HOLES AND REPAINTING. These people do not have the money to buy paint and spaktel to make the place as it was before they came. So I understand the idea of nothing on the walls. This is not about what is on the walls, it is just that who will repair the walls after he leaves? Who will pay for paint and repairs? Not him, so he should obey the rules like everyone else
43. #11 Ever think it is about fixing walls after he goes???
Netanya ,   Netanya   (03.25.14)
If everyone puts things on the walls, who will fix them and repaint? That is the whole thing...will you send him the money to repair the wall and repaint and everyone else who does it? If not, then STFU
44. #38..even renters must give the apt back EXACTLY
Netanya ,   Netanya   (03.25.14)
as it was when they moved in. For that reason I don't have any pictures or anything else on my walls. I am in Israel for 20 yrs and have had to putty so many walls and repaint them, that I know. It is money and work. Who do you think should do it? If I have to and I PAY rent, why should he be off the hook for it????????
45. A true Christians.............
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (03.25.14)
If anyone is a true Christian? Christianity demand Christian must faithfully accept Israel the holy and promise land God given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob = his 12 male sons = 12 tribes of Israel today's Jews. And Christians legally and spiritually should not claim or demand any part of the land of Israel. If Israel allow out of political and compassionate is a totally different case. They must also be patriotic to Israel and love the Jews otherwise go home and to where God let you by birth. Israel and Jews know actually who love and accepted them (end)
46. to #18
iselin ,   oslo   (03.25.14)
Do pictures of snakes scare you too? I went to a Catholic girls' school (there were many Jewish pupils as it was the only highly academic school in my area of the US deep south) with pictures similar to those hung up by this asylum seeker, but they were just pieces of paper or paintings. No one complained. They were just part of the territory. As long as the blood didn't drip onto me, it was fine, a lot less bloody than a live bris.
47. #41 to #44: Thank you.
(03.25.14)
48. #46 Iselin
Lazerbenabba ,   London   (03.25.14)
Coming from Oslo your response is hardly surprising and obviously you have been imbued with the acceptance of the macabre. As to circumcision I could not agree more but that is the idiocy of religion.
49. What's the end of this story?
GS ,   Germany   (03.28.14)
