1. Attacks on Palestinians Cruel Settlements Justified
Zechariah   (03.25.14)
The Settlements are Just because of the Genocidal Threats against Israel pre Six Day War and After .Who will forget the Arab Mobs Dancing in the Streets Calling for Mass Murder and Torture of Jews prior to the six day War .For the sake of Quiet slowdowns are Prudent but Seven and a half million Palestinians in Judae and Samariah will bring War and Immense Destruction as Jew and Arab Tribally Attack each other .I wish it were not so and that Stabilization could occur Human Nature though Sometimes Righteous is Against this .
2. major problem -- what a joke, try the idea of wiping Israel
naftulee ,   Jerusalem   (03.25.14)
What a stupid thing to say.... a few crazy settlers and some homes that can be demolished (gaza) or NOT the problem. Love how the UN constantly ignores the real problem. The arab worlds refusal to allow us to live here in peace and security and the arabs world constant and undying desire to to WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE MAP. They just cant seem to except that this is our ancient homeland and we never relenquished our right of return which goes way farther back than any arab who lived here in 48. If they would truly come to terms with our existence then this problem really would go away.
3. The "core" of human rights abuses in all region is Muslims.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.25.14)
4. Why don't you ask the Syrians in our hospitals
Ilan ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (03.25.14)
about human rights? HAHA, settler violence at the core of Palestinian suffering? Please!!! Acts of terrorism committed by these wouldbe martyrs is the cause of their problems. Hamas gave us a window into the future of EXACTLY, how the west bank will turn out if, Israel Pulls out! Thanks, but no thanks! The West bank is ours to give away in exchange for peace, they're not entitled to it just because they claim so. Just like i'm not entitled to your front lawn, just because Israeli might one day decide to say so!
5. navil pillay is long discredited
edsel   (03.25.14)
she along with goldstone showed their true colors. Pillay exaggerates, takes one sided evidence withouttotal 2 party verification(as goldstone did in gaza) and she has a fetish with israel. She is not to be believed and is just a UN beaurocratic hack of no use to anyone but radicals.
6. Here's a thought
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.25.14)
I know how we can put an end to all the fictitious human rights abuses in Judea and Samaria. All we have to do is annex Judea and Samaria, and repatriate its Arab residents to Jordan, country of their citizenship. That should shut up Ms. Pillay; who knows, it might even force her to look at some REAL -- as distinct from IMAGINED -- human rights abuses, which abound throughout the world. She is one twisted sister; she even found a way to fault Israel for the constant missile and mortar attacks upon Israeli civilians in and around Sderot. Now that takes some kind of nerve. But if there are no longer Arabs in Judea and Samaria following annexation and repatriation of all unruly elements to Jordan -- and, let's face it; like all sovereign states, Israel has an absolute right to determine which foreign nationals may and may not reside within its borders -- then there will no longer be any human rights abuses in Judea and Samaria, especially the imaginary ones which Ms. Pillay finds a way to address each and every time she opens her foul mouth, and all will be well with the world. Except Ms. Pillay, of course, will have to turn her attention to the long and despicable catalogue of human rights abuses which abound throughout the world. No fun in that, especially for Ms. Pillay, but that would be her problem, wouldn't it?
7. So lets examine Pillays comments
Tim ,   Brighton   (03.25.14)
Anyone heard of Pillay To understand why she has NO credibility and her position in the UN untenable given her blatant bias against Israel She says 'The targeting of civilians and the indiscriminate firing of rockets towards Israel (by Hamas) is a violation of international law' Then she is quick to temper her comments with 'But the response through air strikes by Israel is excessive and often causes destruction to personal and public property' So in all absurdity - what does she expect Israel to do to protect her citizens in response to these INDISCRIMINATE and UNPROVOKED rocket attacks? Send her a polite E Mail? Pillay goes even further to say 'An Israeli blockade of Gaza must be lifted, "with due regard to Israeli security concerns' Notice NO MENTION of Hamas Charter, their frenzied smuggling up of offensive rockets and weaponry and almost DAILY threats to Israel and the Jewish people in her half baked hare brained analysis Note also her insane and preposterous demand for UNCONDITIONAL lifting of the blockade without reciprocal security guarantees Pillay is absolutely out of her depth, has not a shred of impartiality, has NOTHING to offer the peace process and has to go
8. pillay
aaron ,   toronto,canada   (03.25.14)
dear ms pillay why can't you understand the simple fact that we left gaza and shut them out of our lives after they became a terrorist state, their charter calls for our annihilation but we're not ready for death. As for their trouble making it took the ouster of their brotherhood in Egypt to understand why Egypt now closed the border to them, if you love these people so much go and live with them and leave Israel alone.
9. Navi, without finishing the articles, you are wrong!!
Brett L ,   JHB RSA   (03.25.14)
You say the surge of violence in gaza are a source of the problem. Lets analyse just that. Wasn't it islamic jihad that launched dozens of rockets at Israel? Wasn't it the Israelis who intercepted a huge arms cache on the way to gaza. Of course just these two little titbits are not an issue, all that is an issue is that you hate the Jews and this is the reason for the ignorant statements being spewed out. You are anti semite hating jew as is your organisation. Terror isn't condemned unless it is seen to be committed by Israel. Anything by the palastinians is ignored. Two faced!!
10. A one word answer for "Pillay O'Fish"
Jordan Ariel ,   USA   (03.25.14)
11. She is lying!
Israeli 2   (03.25.14)
She is corrupt. She is being paid heavy sums of money just to make a false negative commercial against Israel. That's all she is doing. Do not take her seriously.
12. Typical apartheid UN
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.25.14)
All the problems in the world are caused by us building on own lands that thieving Arabs want. Heard this refain too many times
13. Navi should comment from Sdrodt
Ron ,   oc us   (03.25.14)
I don't expect much from the UN for good reason. At some point there will be a PA state, and it will fail. Israel will still be blamed by the left, the Arab league and the UN. NP's comments are hardly worth the press.
14. Human rights?
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (03.25.14)
put a kippa on and walk down any Arab street and see what happens to you and then come back and tell us about human rights. Go to France and walk around with a kippa on your head and see what happens and then tell us about human rights. Go to the Ukraine and walk around with a kippa on your head and see what happens and then tell us about human rights. Go to Jordan, Saudi, Lebanon, Syria, (need more names?) and walk around with a kippa on your head and see what happens and then tell us about human rights. Human right activists are BS activists. They don't care about human rights, they are merely anti semites in new clothing!
15. UN
Iletzter ,   TA   (03.25.14)
Israel should tell this jackass that he should redirect his efforts to Syria. When he will finish his work in Syria , he can revisit Israel , maybe in another 30 years. Israel should consider puuling out of this farce, called the UN.
16. let the settlers live in Palestine
Miri   (03.25.14)
They dont need to move let the settlers live under occupation in the new Palestinian state. Lets face it , its all about real estate, how strange they dont want to live in Ramat Gan, last time i checked that was part of the holy land.
17. let's send him to syria first and hav e him stay there for t
liza ,   haifa, israel   (03.25.14)
18. The UN should be dissolved
Samuel ,   Israel   (03.25.14)
Ms. Pillay,Go study your history book of the Middle East. After Israel was attacked simultaneously by Egypt, Jordan, Syria & the backing of all the Arab nations during "The Six Day War", there was no Palestinian nation. Now see for yourself what is happening in India. Pakistan is ready to swallow your own country. If you are not aware of whats going around STOP meddling before you know the facts.
19. #16. Palestine is forever fictional.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.25.14)
Oz and Narnia will spring to life before Palestine.
20. Time for serious plan to defund the U.N.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.25.14)
The U.N. is even worse than the League of Nations, which collapsed due to its utter worthlessness. It is time for a serious plan, among Western Nations, to defund the U.N. It would make a great wedge issue for U.S. Republicans.
21. She is an antisemitic, tells the truth.
(03.25.14)
22. # 6 Sarah B DO IT!!!!!
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (03.25.14)
You have citizenship I know you can do it and will have the majority support.
23. #6 and #22
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (03.26.14)
Ho Hum Sarah B. Still cutting and pasting your imaginary forecasts. It will never happen. Forget it! The West Bank will never be annexed. Instead you had better feed your lapdog, BBB@22!
24. Settlements
Rabbi Steve ,   Clifton, NJ USA   (03.28.14)
can't help but point out that continuing to build settlements in disputed areas is a VERY dangerous game... On the one hand, the cards are clearly stacked against Israel. No matter what they do, their actions will ignite the world against them. But to intentionally provoke the very people you are trying to make peace with is both dangerous and (in my opinion)...Stupid. Having been to Israel, I have seen how all Israeli non-Jews are afforded second-class status by law. And while I do understand why, I can't help but acknowledge that in the end, it may serve Israel's need to stay under Jewish control, but it creates animosity on the part of those excluded. Add to that the mentality of "well if your not making use of it and we do and make it better, it automatically becomes ours", it will be almost impossible for real peace to ever come about. At the same time, the Palestinians have allowed themselves to become pawns in an international game and need to accept that they have been stolen from and lied to, not by Israel, but by their own leaders who have stuffed their pockets with millions of dollars while their people go hungry and are taught to hate the west. This is not an easy situation from both sides, but with so much going on on both sides, it's no likely to end anytime soon. It's a truly SAD commentary on one of the holiest places on earth.
