Given the vendetta spirit pervading most of the Middle East, given all those atrocious crimes he has ordered &/or condoned he has a long list of enemies ready to use any failure in his security to kill him & his family as an eye for eye revenge for the 140 000 deaths of civilians & fighters, the millions of destitute refugees in camps. His remaining life, even if he evades assassination will never be a quiet life& his children may become the innocent victims of their father's crimes.

Before the Syrian civil war, Assad was loved by the American and European Left as a reformist and wise leader. Now that Assad's survival is no longer at stake, he wants to regain his popularity in the Europe and American Leftist circles. He knows the easiest way to achieve this is by attacking Israel.
