1. indict olmert for obstruction of justice
jerold   (03.31.14)
to counter a positive appeal,f ile an indictment for obstruction using zaken's secret tapes and her evidence for assisting the state. In case of successful appeal which is highly doubtful as rozen is a careful judge, state would likely win an obstruciton of justice charge which would send olmert to jail where he richly and fully belongs. if olmert serves no time,t hen the legal system in israel is money based and would have no relevance to the masses, in which case there would be no rule of law. Defence counsel should think about it big time.
2. Well, did anyone seriously expect ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.31.14)
... Shula Zaken to fall on her sword for Olmert? Duty and loyalty only get you so far. She was going down; did Udi really think she was going to go down alone? At a minimum, each should lose their pension. And Zaken's sentence is far too lenient. She was what we call in English the "bagman." Or "bagwoman," in this case. Too stupid to realize she was being used as a cut-out to cut the link to Olmert. They threw a few sheqels her way to keep her mouth shut, while the good 'ol boys took down MILLIONS. Serves you right, Shula. But all things being equal, if she's going away for eleven months, Olmert should go away for eleven years.
3. If appealed then Zaken's evidence will be admissable!
michael redboun ,   Lisbon - Portugal   (03.31.14)
4. Olmert is a corrupt narcissist without remorse
CJK   (03.31.14)
olmert tried even a few months ago to re-enter politics and act as obama's little slave boy. olmert never expressed remorse for the deaths of 130 idf soldiers at the very end of lebanon 2. olmert never expressed remorse for wanting to give essential parts of jerusalem to the arabs including the saudis. olmert is without doubt a very corrupt man who should have never been prime minister of israel. he had neither the temperament nor the judgment nor the qualification to be prime minister.
5. Olmert started in politics poor & came out rich
Avery Dalton ,   Toronto , Canada   (04.01.14)
Therefore, of course he was guilty. The only question is: Would the witnesses testify against Olmert or not.
6. Another dark day in politics
Eli ,   LA, USA   (04.01.14)
What is it with these politicians and bribes. Perhaps government work is not their cup of tea. Join the private sector and get a descent paying job.
7. Question:do we deserve "leaders like Olmert or not? Really!?
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.01.14)
8. lawyers shocked lol, their heads must be HUGE
naftulee ,   jerusalem   (04.01.14)
