The gap will be increasingly diffucult to bridge unless Israel becomes a real democracy ie with separation of state and religion. Young democratic Americans will never put up with cultural distortions that exist and are tolerated in Israel.

These programmes have little or no academic merit or integrity. They are dismal signs of the time, during which universities are selling themselves on street corners to their student clients.

No need have this program as long as Israel is driving the separation between populations based on adherence to religion. Spend the money in Israel and write dissertations on how to fix its social fabric. Better yet, use the funds outside the yada yada academia and accomplish separation of religion from the state.
