Why would they have a parole hearing one and a half years before he's eligible?

7. Pollard is a hero
Scott ,   Ramat Gan   (04.01.14)
Shamefully most American Jews ignore Pollard. The spying he did for was important for Israel but did not endanger the US. In refusing to be released for terrorists he has shown he has integrity too.
8. Wait a second
JS   (04.01.14)
According to Sarah B there is no parole in the federal system, he could never be paroled she said. Does this mean I should question everything she states as FACT? Like radio waves that cause earthquakes thousands of miles away and the such. Say it aint so........

10. Perhaps a prisoner exchange of putting Jonathan Pollard into
(04.02.14)
an Israeli prison would be a better idea than the political fallout for anyone who pardons him.
11. Pollard
Keila ,   Chicago, USA   (04.02.14)
Pollard is a man of honor. That is more to say about him than Kerry, Obama or Netanyahu.
12. Pollard was not convicted of espionage
Ronda ,   USA   (04.02.14)
It is incredible that a spokesperson for the government would claim Pollard was convicted of espionage. He wasn't! He pled guilty to a much lesser charge for which he was to receive a 10 year sentence but the judge refused to honor the plea agreement. While the judge is not bound to follow a plea agreement, he should have allowed Pollard to withdraw his plea.
13. Jaw jawing about Mr. Pollard
MORRIS LEO GREB, ESQ ,   ROCKAWAY, USA   (04.02.14)
President Oy'Bama's sense of fair play and proportionality is obviously rests in the binary system of world view good and bad. Viz, telling the Israelis to release thousands of brutal Palestinian thugs into lives of ease worshipped and funded by the PLO. These brutal animals who consider killing by means of terror as valid are being supported by the Oy'Bama regime by kowtowing to Abass' promise to make more demand. President Oy'Bama diddles and dawdles deciding whether the release of Mr. Pollard would be far in excess to be considered a balanced, even handed quid pro quo for the thousands released by the by the Israelis.

howiej ,   NJ/USA   (04.02.14)
There are members of the Defense and Intelligence communities who have also stated that Pollard should be freed; Lawrence Korb, former Ass't Sec. Defense;James Wooley, former CIA Chief; Elliot Abrams, former U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor to name a few.

18. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.02.14)
What about Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen? Should they have been shot -- they did spy for the Soviet Union and Russia, and compromised hundreds of American assets there -- or do they get a free pass because they are not Jews?
19. Read carefully
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.02.14)
Being ELIGIBLE for parole and being GRANTED parole are hardly the same thing. Moreover, Pollard has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Under the federal regs, he can, in theory, be released after having served one-half of his sentence. The problem is that it is not empirically possible to calculate one-half of a life sentence. It will take a presidential pardon to free Pollard.
