1. Big Surprise
LJH ,   Canada   (04.02.14)
So the pals negotiated in bad faith simply in order to secure a release of prisoners - what a surprise. Soon the already released prisoners will start getting arrested again for terrorist acts. One of these days, both sides will come to the conclusion that it is in everyones interest to make peace, even though the cost of compromise is painful.
2. US should never have given $$ to terrorists.
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (04.02.14)
Think if the US and others didn't fund the pal terrorists, there'd be no pal terrorists. STOP AIDING AND ABETTING THE ENEMY.!!! KEEP BUILDING !!!
3. And we are supposed to believe PA would keep PIECE agreement
Par for the course ,   for the PA   (04.02.14)
They have never kept a single agreement in 70 years!
4. One State NOW
Ibrahim ,   Ramallah   (04.02.14)
The Knesset should pass a law tomorrow absorbing all the West Bank and Gaza. It is all Israel now. One State. The State of Israel. We are 4 million people desperate to be engulfed by Israel, with normal institutions and security. It is time for us Palestinians go to the streets and demand Israel to annex us, as Russia did with Crimea.
5. if obama does nothing. he will count for nothing.

Jersey Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (04.02.14)
& Leaders with decades of annual billion$ including the Pals, Afghans, Iraq, & Eqypt. These highly corrupt peoples only trash US anyway while living lavishly. Uncle Sucker leaving this crazy area would cause resolution quickly cuz motivations & incentives 4endless talks would disppear ...
8. Abbas should have never been given his UN upgrade
zionist forever   (04.02.14)
Before he got his UN upgrade Abbas had to be a realist in his demands and approach to the so called peace process. Once he got his upgrade suddenly he went from being the moderate the west liked to an even more hardline version of Arafat and acting like he could dictate terms to the whole world if he wanted. Since the upgrade he hasn't taken the idea of talks seriously at all its been demand after demand offering nothing in return because simple fact is Abbas wants to go to the UN for his state. That upgrade gave Abbas a high ego boost and he doesn't want to waste the new found powers his upgrade has given him so he has been stringing Kerry along and the US has been putting pressure on Bibi to play by Abbas rules. Abbas will go to the UN in the end, the Arab League will give him money if the US stops giving because they like the idea of taking the UN route same as he does because the UN is a weapon he can use against Israel and they will give him a resolution demanding Israel give him everything he has been demanding and more.
9. When will the US learn?
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.02.14)
The peace talks were a waste of time all along. The Arabs never wanted peace in the first place. What's Israel's obligation at this point? The West Bank and Gaza always have and always will belong to Israel. Israel allowed Palestinians to enter Israel to work, only to deal with suicide bombers. Israel released Palestinian prisoners in the past, only to face more terror attacks. What else does the world expect Israel to do? And why all the pressure on Israel when the Arabs have offered nothing meaningful the whole time?
10. The Common Threat
Zechariah   (04.02.14)
Both Jews Arabs and Internationals ignore the Common Apocalyptic Threat to the Holy Land over the next Few Decades and Centuries which will attempt a huge destruction .A Federated Sructure is The Better with The Best Forces Coopted into a International Armed Force with Immense Defensive and Deterrant Capacities.
11. Build Baby Build #2
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (04.03.14)
Anyone who gives money to the U.N. will give money to these terrorists. We should cut them all off and keep building.
12. "both sides"?!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (04.03.14)
when will washington stop with the "equivalence" nonsense already? abbas has been bargaining in bad faith all along, and is unwilling to make peace no matter what concessions israel offers. why does washington continue with this useless charade?
13. Yeah, One Arab State now .... in Arabia, occupiers out of ME
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.03.14)
14. There already is one state of Israel
Joe Fraser ,   Canada   (04.03.14)
And it doesn't want your people, but Jordan ( Palestine) would gladly absorb you.(not)
15. Zionist crimes against palestinians must be adressed !
Zizi   (04.03.14)
16. GOOD FOR THE GOOSE...
Frank-el ,   Seattle USA   (04.03.14)
USA should revoke all "funding" laws and cease transfer of US taxpayer $'s to both PLA and Israel. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. We could use the money here, believe me. The PLA and this Israeli government are both lost causes. Posters above should stop with the double standards and hypocricy.
17. #2 you're right
John ,   Ny   (04.03.14)
My country must stop arming terrorists who make unilateral actions. Israel should choose unilateral annexation of land for settlement building, or peace. We shouldn't be biased anymore.
18. USA disappointed? What about Palestinians
Joe Asfour ,   Burke, USA   (04.03.14)
If there is any one party that should feel miffed at the prospects of the potential collapse of the current Israeli-Palestinian peace talks is definitely John Kerry who has invested so much time, effort and prestige in trying to bring the Israelis, the Palestinians and the Arabs together. We must commend his efforts and we should stand by him for his vision and intentions for bringing peace in the Middle East. However, I am not surprised at the present impasse because I have been following closely the Israeli-Arab peace process for over 20 years now and I have seen the increasing arrogance of a segment of the Israeli leadership in dealing with the peace process and their no longer covert operation to derail any such process, for God knows what objective. I have often wondered how and when the United States can bring about peace in the Middle East without finally cashing in the chips she holds, for all the support and assistance she has given Israel over the past 70 years so as to be able to delink its national interests from those of Israel . Yes I know that national electoral considerations weigh heavily in the official support the United States has given Israel in the past, and that the Israeli lobby is very efficient in marshaling support for its political objectives. This has made the Israeli leadership more and more arrogant in its refusal to heed the friendly advice the USA has given to push the peace process forward. So if the ongoing talks collapse, Israel would have achieved "its" objective and the United States will be left to deal with the consequences of such a failure. No one is asking the USA to jettison Israel from the comfortable seat she has occupied in our living rooms, but if we really want peace in the Middle East, isn't it time for Israel to listen seriously and intently to the friendly advice USA has given in recent times, particularly under the administration of President Obama and his secretary of State John Kerry?
19. Ibrahim no 4
AL QUDS ALYAHUDI ,   QUDS YAHUDI   (04.03.14)
Yes one state only. The Jewish State of Israel. Your state is in the dessert of Arabia, and that is the reason you are called Arabs. Israel belong to Bnei Israil as written in the Quran. You do not respect your quran and what is written. Do not try to say our Prophet Moshe is a Muslim, as you are claiming, our Father Abraham, King Solomon and KIng David and all Jewish Prophets are Muslims. Now also you have to say Bnei Israil were Muslims, and you wlll be celebrating Pesach and will be eating matza for one week. Islam are the biggest LIARS and TWISTERS.
20. Stop giving "Palestinians" false hopes.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.03.14)
Palestine is forever fictional. "Palestinians" need the opportunity to absorb this obvious lesson. If "Palestinian" statehood was ever going to occur, it would have happened in the 1970s. Conditions were ideal than. Labor ruled Israel and few Jews lived in Judea and Samaria. It will never happen now. Top "Palestinian" leaders all likely know this but "the cause" lets them endlessly milk gullible Westerners.
21. #18 joe
solomon ,   bklyn   (04.03.14)
Then you have also seen the increasing arrogance of the "Pals" in not wanting to compromise one millimeter; they want what they want and to hell with compromise. You either see that or you're blind; take your pick.
22. ICC or Nobel Peace Prize
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.03.14)
Time to decide. 6,12, not mine.
23. Clearly, the Arabs chose, once again, not to miss an
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.03.14)
opportunity to miss an opportunity for peace, and, having humiliated the Secretary of State and the American government - as they have done it so many times before - opted to continue the conflict rather than resolve it through peaceful means, as they formally had committed to do so. Israel ought to now resort to Plan B, be it the one proposed by Mr. Naphtali Bennett to annex Area C; or any one of the proposals by people like Yoaz Hanle, Amos Yadlin or Michael Oren. And, a final option is the proposal by the journalist Caroline Glick to annex the entire disputed territory. Either way, such an action would have both the moral and legal solid grounds on which to stand, and all that we need is an assertive government that stands behind it.
24. Several US laws deal with PLO not negotiating in good faith:
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (04.03.14)
The same US law that allowed recognizing the PLO terrorist group as the "sole" representative of the "palestinian people" ALSO requires the President to certify every 6 months that they have abandoned violence and are negotiating in good faith statehood and a peace agreement directly with Israel . If Obama can not certify that, this existing legislation requires total cut off of all aid and funding to the PLO, PA and Gaza . This legislation also requires shutting all PLO and PA offices in the US, bans donations to the PLO and PA, redesignates them as an outlawed terrorist group, banning all PLO representatives from US soil.and its PA. If Obama is found to have falsely certified to Congress something that isn't true, it would constitute strong grounds for impeachment and removal from office. This is why the pannicked Obama regime convinced Abbas to abandon his earlier drive to obtain a state without negotiating with Israel or recognizing the Jewish State - out of Obama's hands, Congress would cut off all aid and contact with the PLO, Obama could do nothing about it - especially if Israel documents to Congress that Abbas is not negotiating in good faith. Absence of ongoing peace talks also require Congress to immediately direct the White House to recognize all Jerusalem as Israeli, and move the US embassy to Jerusalem, as the capital of Israel and only of Israel. Abbas running to the UN for a State will trigger all these anti-PLO measures built into the laws.
25. #16 agreed
(04.03.14)
Zionists have been begging for years: immediately stop all "aid" to Israel, even if it was an American commitment to Israel for surrendering Sinai. The American "aid" does not help Israel, but only corrupts her politicians.
26. Better if All Aid Ends
Mark ben Josef   (04.03.14)
The PA should receive aid from no country. It is a chimera, a mirage that will never become real. The entire international community should just quit trying to finance the mirage that will never become real. Obama should do as Bush did in 2006, cut US aid and encourage the world to embargo aid.
27. to Brnd@24 - Perfect
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (04.03.14)
The US gets nothing out of aid to the PA. So if we cut them off as Bush did in 2006, no big deal. The US could spend the money on high-speed rail tracks. Cutting aid to the PA is a perfect idea. Need a groundswell in Congress to do just that.
28. If they can be granted State by UN why is IL wasting time
Alan ,   SA   (04.03.14)
on futile talks and why is Kerry neglecting his wife..Its a no brainer .Is it not?
29. aid is given by the US to buy influence
zionist forever   (04.03.14)
The US gives hundreds of millions to the PA every year, when its misused a blind eye is turned, every time Abbas shouts he needs more money because he cannot afford to pay his people the US writes another check. When the US asks for something in exchange for their generosity Abbas says go to hell. If there is nothing in this for the US why continue shelling out all this money?
30. #9. Israel needs to lead by ending "peace talks" scam..
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.03.14)
#9. You ask; when will America learn "peace talks with Palestinians" are a scam? Israel needs to take the lead by ending the dangerous scam. As long as Israel's government goes along with the sick charade, why shouldn't John Kerry chase a Nobel Peace Prize at Israel's expense?
