1. This is a non issue, a storm in a teapot. US NG much more.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (04.16.14)
First 60% of the natural gas produced will be used in Israel by Israeli law. Second the amount Israel can export is likely less than 5% of what Russia exports today to Europe and with the growing appetite for more energy every year Russia will not feel even a pinch. The real threat to Russia gas exports comes from the US that plans to export its vast new finds of this resource to Europe.
2. I have a better idea
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.16.14)
We should be looking East to sell our gas and let the Eurotrash have to buy Russian gas
3. Nonsense. Israel´s gas fields are tiny
Peter ,   Jerusalem   (04.16.14)
Israel´s gas fields are significant only to Israel as a small country. They can supply the internal market and maybe there will be some leftover for another small country, such as Cyprus or Jordan. Thats about it. Its ridiculous to compare Israel´s gas potential with Russia´s.
4. Russia and Israel are on the same side
ori   (04.16.14)
Israel will glad to cooperate with Russia to make life hard to the antisemitic Europeans. Gas prices on the EU will remain high
5. there is a good old book
Robert ,   lost in farmington   (04.16.14)

7. Israel's Gas
Lazerbenabba ,   London   (04.17.14)
When you are dealing with the snake that is Erdoghan, why even attempt to seek a rapprochment; they are the ones seeking extra supplies of gas, let them deal with the uncertain and erratic Russian Gazprom, perpetually using political clout instead of commercial considerations. Israel can sell all that it can spare elsewhere and should not provide that Islamic Bi Polar Turkish nutter.
8. Something missing in all this gas-analysis
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (04.17.14)
Israel, Russia, Turkey, Europe... What about the country with the world's biggest natural gas reserves: Iran. When the sanctions are lifted and the Iranian gas fields can be developed for export, what relevance will this Israeli-Russian competition have then?
9. Gee @2, it does not work like that.
blog2038 ,   usa   (04.17.14)
In order to pay the cheapest price everybody buys from the cheapest and closest source and market just averaging this price.
10. 1 not mine.

11. You are insane if you think
rifat   (04.18.14)
that Turks will want to buy gas from a country that murdered its citizens on flotilla. Just the idea that Turkey buying gas from Israel will normalize relations is preposterous and insulting to Turks. You truly have a nerve to say that, Turkey will be better off buying gas from Russia in my opinion. Turkey needs to cut off ties with Israel as much as possible so as to render it insignificant and irrelevant.
12. # 11 Take your own advice
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (04.18.14)
