Let's see how earlier generations saw Leviticus 18.22. In his Bible commentary British Chief Rabbi Dr Joseph Hertz [wrongly claimed by the American Conservatives because he attended JTS] said this verse on male on male relations, 'discloses the abyss of depravity from which the Torah saved the Israelite. This unnatural vice was also prevalent in Greece and Rome.' Rabbiner Samson Raphael Hirsch avoids commenting on Lev. 18.22 but earlier reminds readers that there are three sins for which one must be prepared to die rather than transgress. Most commentaries note that the Canaanites were vomited out of Eretz Israel because they committed abminations and we must therefore avoid the range of immorality including adultery, incest, sodomy and bestiality. We read this section at Mincha on Yom Kippur because this is the most basic Law of morality and holiness. No surprise that Haredim hesitate to give advice on how best to do it!

What you are ignoring or you don't want to see, is that no human being becomes homosexual by his or her own desire. They are created as such. I was born into a completely "normal" and loving family, and I knew already when I was a kid that I was attracted to men. Homosexuals were created by nature just as heterosexuals. Nature works in many ways. Some of the greatest contributors to humanity were homosexuals, including Leonardo da Vinci , Sir Francis Bacon and Tchaikovsky, But you would like them to have been killed. Shame on people like yourself!

Take the good things from Judaism and discard the negative parts. After all, if you were born into a world where heterosexuality was shunned, how would you feel?

What do you care? Since when do you people don't believe in evolution? Once again, the comments posted here by Haredim demonstrate the utter futility of any attempt to reason with them. we should bring back public burning at the stake. the 'gays' have ruined society in US and we don't want it here. they want pure hedonistic pleasure with no responsibility and they got a brutal illness for their transgressions. BTW burning is how they used to get rid of objects that were contaminated by disease, so it seems to me that it would be a great idea to revive it. Sort of binding the modern with the ancient traditions. Plus kids love watching fires.

Now all you have to do is to wait for the inevitable Haredi takeover of Israel. You can throw out all the liberal and secular Jews and have the country to yourselves. We'll see how long you'll last.

I am actually quite happy with seeing the goodness in the religious communities in Israel. It is just a shame that the non religious (secular) people have chosen to emulate the decedent American society. But on the good side, realize that the fastest growing segment here in Israel is the religious who have fairly large birthrates. So while white America becomes a minority due to the birthrate of the minorities, here the good people will take over.
