1. Just saying
Chaim ,   Arad   (05.10.14)
Frankly, I think it's a good idea. Holding presidency is a glorified position that really does nothing but cost money which can be given back to the IDF for the protection of this country. What Peres has done and said certainly has not done that. Nothing against him, it's just another person to shoot their mouth off and make political statements that are not worth a kilo of sand.
2. That would've been a stroke of genius on Bibi's part!

3. The Presidency
Sagi   (05.10.14)
is a farce, the mode of election is a farce, the abundance of candidates is farcical and Bibi is 100% correct. This position is useless, redundant and an embarrassment to most normal people. The correct way forward is simple. Ask the people by referendum if they want a President, and if so by which method should the election be held. Politicians should not make any decision in this matter, only the people.
4. Candidates
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (05.10.14)
I can see only two candidates in the picture, the scientist and the judge. All the rest is empty blank space. One last point , if we must have a president then we the people can choose by ourselves and not by the idiotic stinking political trading method currently used.
5. #1
Mendoza ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.10.14)
Correct, but dont exaggerate, surely you mean one grain of sand.
6. |I completely agree with Sagi - no Pres. or public elections

7. Bibi I am with you all the way ! Good thinking
miri ,   israel   (05.10.14)
and hope you are able to follow through with measures to eliminate the unnecessary presidency.
8. about Presidency
Maurice ,   Montreal   (05.10.14)
Presidency in countries with a British parliamentary system is nothing but the equivalent of the Monarchy in the Britain. In Canada, we don't have a President, but we have a General Governor which fills the same ceremonial role as the Queen in Britain or the President in countries with British parliamentary system. This is an unneeded role that costs a lot to tax payers.
9. End the costly worthless presidency.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.10.14)
Israel's presidency is costly and does not serve Israel in any way.
10. The same cottage cheese protestors
Sagi   (05.10.14)
from Rothschild should start a public campaign to force the government to stop this nonsense called the Presidency. Nobody wants it and we as a country do not need it. Instead of building a new office and residence for the PM at a cost of 650 million, the evacuated Presidential residence can be converted at a much lower cost, and what is more, the people will be pleased.
11. I agree,,,,

Theres no reason to vote for Jerusalem Mayor but not for President A) elections for Israel Prime Minister B) elecions for Parliament Members, Jerusalem Mayor and President.
