I'm from Madison, Wisconsin and now live in Israel. The University of Wisconsin-Madison used to be fertile ground for the extremist left. Today, they have been hounded out of Madison by gentrification and a gradual inflow of pro-Israel conservatives. Madison is now a decidedly conservative town. Though I have no immediate plans to return to the US, I'm content with knowing that I'll be able to visit my home town safely and not have to face the anti-Jewish hippy morons who harassed me every chance they got.
