1. Thanks, Maduro, now the "palestinians" won't need
A ,   Belgium   (05.17.14)
fuel from Israel anymore. Try collecting payment on their bill, though.
2. Hold on a minute, here
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.17.14)
Can you spell "tariff?" Moreover, Israel can simply seize the cargo as partial payment for the considerable "Palestinian" debt to the State of Israel. In any event, both options are very realistic options and both are quite legal. A third option exists as well. Israel can simply disallow the shipment, as a violation of Israel's fully legal and internationally recognized naval embargo of Gaza. The unity agreement with Hamas puts Fatah in a very sticky situation. If Abbas persists in pursuing that route, he becomes a part of that entity which is under embargo. In all fairness, 240,000 barrels of oil isn't all that much. About half a hold on a very small tanker. But it's more than the "Palestinians" deserve, and Israel should simply seize it for nonpayment of bills. There are no short cuts.
3. Abbas is losing the plot
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (05.17.14)
Far from seeking closer cooperation with and from Israel for our own national self interest in the West Bank, instead he prefers to accept hand outs of barrels of oil from a clapped out State as a sort of joint 'poke in the eye' to Israel What we want is the stabilty, the environment and access to Israeli market for Palestinian Goods Services and Labour in the West Bank, compensation for refugees, Infrastructure projects...TO BUILD A STRONG AND SUCCESSFUL ECONOMY not scoring stupid 'brownie potical points' and media theatrics that get us absolutely nowhere
4. You cannot even find toilet paper.....
J ,   Venezuela   (05.17.14)
...... In the grocery stores in Venezuela..... People have to wait for 3-4 hours in front of the stores to get one piece of toilet paper, one package of flour, one lt of milk, etc..... The country is about to collapse....... Good for Nicolas Maduro,,,,, this will bring even more mad in Venezuela
5. i am realy glad...
les ,   canada   (05.17.14)
to see the Venezuelan people doing so well, they can give away their resources (for free). but since there isn't no free lunch, most likely maduro will pay for it either with his job, or his life.
6. I hope it's free cause the palis sure won't pay for it.
(05.17.14)
7. Like Arab brothers promises, not one barrel of oil will come
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.17.14)
Last promise was made by Gutter to give Gaza $400 million last year. A few months ago Gutter kept its promise and delivered from Egypt 20 trucks of sand and rocks worth less than $100,000. That was the end of the $400 million aid.
8. tunnels
aaron ,   toronto,canada   (05.17.14)
Now I want to see how they get them into gaza since half should go there since they are united, the other half will have to be smuggled into wb by the teaspoon.
9. No imports till you pay Israel for your electricity!!!!!!!!
Dror ,   Israel   (05.17.14)
And water and food etc...
10. #1, Venezuela doesn't honor agreements
Raquel ,   Brazil   (05.17.14)
Palis won't pay a cent coz they won't get the oil, as simple as that. Venezuela is a big mess, turned out to be a paria who is already cutting off diplomatic relations with some countries in the region. Their presidency use to blame the US for whatever happens to them when it's all their own fault. People don't want that populist government anymore. Venezuela has a huge debt with Brazil and hasn't been honouring it for a long time now. Even toilet paper goes from Brazil to Venezuela, food is lacking on their shelves and Caracas has the highest toll on murder death in the world. Oil producer countries must learn that reserves don't solve their problems, only tech can bring money and jobs. Maduro forgot to say when and how... Abbas may have a seat while waiting, otherwise his legs will get sore!
11. the brilliant abbas
jj ,   orlando USA   (05.17.14)
"Israel's monopoly on our economy" Your own stupidity, hatred and ineptitude (along with that of your cronies is responsible for your problems with your economy among many others. The fact that the nation you hate and have worked so hard (not to engage) but to eliminate (or in the least blame) for all the palestinians' abhorrent decisions over the years, has been the only nation to give a damn about you and provide you with electricity (among many other things) speaks volumes about the character of Israel.
12. Maduro has only a brief window to pull a rabbit out of his .
Jewbie ,   ATLANTA GA USA   (05.17.14)
his time is up, next is economy collapse, food riots and anarchy... he just learned you can't drink petrol.
13. How many barrels will israel "find"
James USA   (05.17.14)
14. Good lol
Toby   (05.17.14)
israel please be advised to seize the oil as partial payment for the unpaid bills that Palis owe Israel.
15. Venezuela has so much oil & is still soo poor, no wonder why
EU   (05.17.14)
16. mr MADURO U are absolutely an Idiot at all
guillermo ,   raanana israel   (05.17.14)

21. #10 Thank you for the enlightening, I had no idea
A ,   Belgium   (05.17.14)
Guess Abbas picked another loser, besides Oblabla, to be friends with.
22. lunatics and the asylum
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.17.14)
i'm not sure which one is crazier, maduro or abbas. maduro doesn't have a pot to piss in, but is drowning in black gold. and abbas, the leader of a massive terrorist organization whose only raison d'ĂȘtre is the destruction of israel, is desperately trying not to accept a peace treaty that gives him more than he could ever have dreamt of extorting from israel. together, they've decided to ship oil to a landlocked palestinian anarchy, from a continent away, when the gulf states are half a day's drive away, with more oil than anyone can imagine. stupid is as stupid does...
23. no. 19 - intellectual midget, truth is never yours

24. #2 Pray Tell
Darren Ben John ,   Townsville Australia   (05.18.14)
Which countries (apart from a 3rd world Pacific nation) acknowledge " Israel's fully legal and internationally recognized naval embargo of Gaza"???? I can not think of one.
25. #4 Toilet paper
John ,   Boise, ID USA   (05.18.14)
...I couldn't hold it for 3-4 hours...how do they manage after eating all those bananas?
26. @24 do you think is a challenge
Adler   (05.18.14)
or a priority for the Palestinian Authority to create their own currency before to become an independent state? About 500 U.S. Companies are represented in Venezuela; a few thousands german companies represented in Russia as well. How many Israeli companies do you think could be represented in PA territories, once they become an independent state?
27. # 24 Ask Erdogen about the blockade.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (05.18.14)
And why he paid the IHH thugs $10,000.00 each in advance to attempt to murder the IDF soldiers? Bet you a dollar to a donut, HE recognizes the legality of the embargo or, he would have sent more paid IHH thugs to die in vain. Damn, your one dumb Aussie, a muslim I presume? Most Aussies hate you more than the clap. KEEP BUILDING !!!!
28. the article says:
Adler   (05.18.14)
"The deal would provide 240,000 barrels of oil, but gave no details as to how it would send them." Maybe Palestinians are planing to create their own currency? Iran was buying millions in gold from Turkey during the years of sanctions by U.S.
29. To #17
Adler   (05.18.14)
They are in Dubai..
30. 24
not your fan ,   Israel   (05.18.14)
Hey big mouth down there at the bottom of the world, it's time for you to hold your trap shut. Nothing you can say and nothing you can do will change the fact that Gaza is closed to marine traffic for very good specific reasons.
