Chaim ,   Israel   (05.19.14)
Is it even possible that Zionist politicians are free of corruption? Just because they weren't caught "yet" doesn't mean they're not corrupt.
5. The "President"
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.19.14)
Wasting the people's money is an abhorrent act when you have people living in poverty in this country. Every penny the govt. wastes on useless offices like the presidency will be returned to the people 100 fold very soon. We are nearing the Annointing of Mashiach Ben David. All shall be exposed, all shall be revealed. Have you not been paying attention to how many celebs and politicians are falling like flies... Mashiach is near... these are the signs.

The best is Dalia Itzik: she was the first female speaker of the knesset. Minister of communications. She served as Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and experience as head of state because she was in charged of the Presidency until Peres became the President. 17. Israeli Bluff.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.19.14)
Attention all people. This election is not democratic. The Israeli public does not vote for the President. He/She/It is elected by 120 politicians. Seven million of the rest of us are denied a voice in electing this position. We, the public, also do not elect democratically the Prime Minister. We are denied that, as well. You are all being duped into thinking that this is a democratic state.
18. Chaim, all countries need.....................
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (05.19.14)
... a Chief of State, or a President, or a King. Prime Ministers represent temporary majorities, but Presidents (or constitutional monarchs) are invested in order to defend permanent national values and laws. Don't despise the refered election. Salutes from a friend.

JACK ,   israel   (05.19.14)
Our next president has to be a" MAN" above all political party . somebody who can tell the true about ANYBODY in our country.
21. Yes #20: A MAN only.
Israeli 2   (05.20.14)
Israel should never have a woman PM or President or leadership. Any country with women leadership will plaque the country on the long run. Sorry - just the facts, Ma'am.
22. #18: Judge Haddad
Israeli 2   (05.20.14)
I prefer a representative king over Israel. A king who represents the True King and Torah values. A king who fears God and abides by His laws. He will rule for seven years but may be re-chosen by the will of the people.
23. President of Israel
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.20.14)
The office of president of Israel can best be summed up by quoting John Adams, when he was named Vice President of the United States, to wit: "My country has in its wisdom contrived for me the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived." That's the Israeli office of president.
24. @ 18 Luis from Brazil
Matilde   (05.21.14)
We understand Brazil is a democracy and elected his first President female, Dilma Rouseff. Thank you for sharing with us your kind comments. In Israel even though we love to call ourselfs a "democracy", the vote system to elected President is not part of a popular vote election. There are several candidates willing to get the Presidency but actually just three candidates reach the 10 signatures required to run for the presidential elections: Ben Eliezer, Rivlin, & Chitrit. Maybe israelis are not chauvinist, they are just is waiting to see if Hillary Clinton become President in the United States. :-) obrigada
