1. best way to make progress is target russia in Syria
zionist forever   (05.23.14)
Russia wants Syrian oil so the rebels should set the oilfields slight then the most valuable Syrian asset Russia cares about is going up in smoke and it will give Assad some major headaches. They should also carry out hit and run attacks on the Russian naval base in Tartus Do that and Russia either gets itself caught up in this war and the oil they want is going up in smoke. Only with Russian support can any kind of diplomatic agreement come about so work out a deal that makes sure Russia has its interested guaranteed such as being allowed to keep their base in Tartus and the same kind of preferential oil deals they get from Assad and then Russia will not mind so much if they loose Assad. America will hate it it but the more interventionist Europeans will support it as will the arabs who don't care what the solution is only that it does end. Once Russia supports diplomacy so will their client Iran and their proxy Hezbollah
2. Syria
Walid ,   Spain   (05.23.14)
Obama blinked when he threatened Assad with his famous red line thus giving Assad and Iran the upper hand. He also blinked on IranĀ“s nuclear ambitions, which now makes the bomb a sure thing. And lately he blinked when Putin snatched Cremea. Now all these parties are operating in Syria and a short distance from Israel. The question is: Is Israel going to blink too?
3. Iran "containment of Syria by engaging in proxy warfare"

4. USA in a Bind
Zechariah   (05.23.14)
USA and her allies are in a bind .They don't want to Support the Radical Sunni ElQueda Offshoots But Assad and his Clique are War criminals.
5. imagine

Originally, Putin wanted to work with Obama against their common enemy, radical Islam. The Obama went and lied to Putin about Libya, and his real plans became clear. Why should Putin help Obama set-up radical Islamic regimes that murder Christians?
6. Obama is losing everywhere
CJK   (05.23.14)
obama's catastrophic foreign policy is undermining not only the united states, but also its allies. russia is the big winner. russia is winning everywhere, including iran, syria, lebanon, ukraine, china. this win will further embitter the sunni jihadists who will blame the west for their losses. what is certain is that iran will become a nuclear power. russia never cared about the iranian nuclear issue and joined the P5+1 only as a ruse. it is ironic that the mediocre western leadership believed or pretended to believe that russia would side with them against iran. obama is unbelievably incompetent. he will let iran become a nuclear power. that is his ideology. by now, he could not change even if he wanted to.
7. Involvement, from abroad in "islam"-Syria
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (05.24.14)
For example, "islam"-Iran, "islam"-Lebanon and Russia, in that and such a case, better mind their own national, internal and domestic interest/ business, within their own territory, to serve, to help and to protect their own people(s). That always, also goes to every, other country, with a (permanent)people, with law, constitution and legislation. Also, Israel, forever, ever and always! May G.d bless Israel, too!
8. #6, Putin has no interest in Iran becoming a nuclear power.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.24.14)
It is a danger for Russia too. A lot of what Putin sells to Iran is defective and will not allow Iran to enrich plutonium. Putin has a great affinity for Jews, Israel and in particular Bibi with whom he has a common language, unlike Obama who he despises. When the decisive moment arrives and Obama will abstain in UNSC on crucial anti Israel resolutions, Putin will order his ambassador to cast a veto.
