1. Another Murderer as PA president
Dennis ,   Nj USA   (05.24.14)
Great. These assh$&les pick yet another murder for their leader. At least this one is in an Israeli jail and hopefully will be there forever. So who will they choose next? Samir Kuntar?
2. How sorry should one be.......
mindRider ,   The Free World   (05.24.14)
.......for a "people" who's prime role model and preferred presidential candidate would the man guilty of planned and executed murder of innocent civilians.
3. Forget it - Barghouti is going to die in prison .
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (05.24.14)
4. The Manchurian Candidate
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (05.24.14)
Marwan Bargouthi must definitely be fitting Israeli criteria and standards for president of the Palestinian Authority . We would expect Marwan Bargouthi to have undergone intensive brainwashing while in Israeli jails since summer 2012 . These days there is no more fine line to distinguish between treason and nationalism . Hence,I don't think this demagogue Bargouthi could do any better for the Palestinians than his two predecessors did . And if there's going to be another " Intifada " let Marwan Bargouthi initiate it and set the example for others by sacrificing his own beloved family members first before thinking of sacrificing more innocent , yet ignorant Palestinian youngsters . 5. So, the pals have three choices
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (05.24.14)
and not one is worth a shit. Three terrorists and the most vicious is the most popular. This is proof enough that ALL pals MUST be repatriated to Jordan AFTER lsrael annexes ALL the disputed territories. BUILDING A MIGHTY JEWISH NATION!!!
6. # 3 All three should be jailed
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (05.24.14)
for life - a real shame Israel doesn't have the death penalty for all pal terrorists. STOP RELEASING MURDERERS.!!
7. And we'd like Pollard for President, but guess what: he's
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.24.14)
rotting away in American prison. So will Barghouti in an Israeli one, the only difference being reason for incarceration: big one at that.
8. You have to ask yourself ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.14)
... what kind of complete idiot would vote for a person who will only leave prison feet first? Is there some sort of universal delusion from which the "Palestinians" suffer? Go ahead. Put Barghouti on the ballot. Let him win. Those "heads of state" meetings will be a little tough in a six by eight foot cell .... but no heads of state will be allowed to visit a maximum security prisoner who will never see the light of day. Oh, I forgot. Delusional. Certainly goes a very long way to explain "Palestinian" behavior for the past seven decades. No cure. Oh well.
9. Elections????
Mark ,   London, UK   (05.24.14)
Elections after 6 months. I don't think so. They voted once already, isn't that enough for them?
10. #1 stop blaming the Arabs
(05.24.14)
It is Israelis who resurrected Arafat, gave him an army and territory and then begged to surrender. It is Israelis who give Holocaust denier Dr. Mahmoud Abbas his legitimacy and beg to negotiate with him every day. It is Israelis who made it clear they will respect Arab murderers, release them as early as possible from jail, and then will beg to negotiate with him. The problem is that the Jews ignore peaceful Arabs and love the murderers.

Has it ever occurred to you that the reason the "Palestinians" have so much difficulty in finding a leader is because the "Palestinians" don't really have a credible cause? Unless it's stupidity. Yes, let's launch a fight against stupidity. There wouldn't be very many "Palestinians" left, though, would there? The "Palestinians" -- who really had no business, ties or affinity for Palestine to begin with -- made a crucial mistake in 1947. Well, they've made many -- siding with Germany during World War II wasn't bright; the Hebron massacre did not simply fade away; the assaults and raids against Jews didn't help, either -- but, as I said, the crucial one; the one from which all subsequent mistakes stem, was to choose war over peace in 1947. Well, your reasoning was flawless -- a handful of poorly armed Jews could hardly beat back the might of the well-armed, well-trained and well-provisioned Arab armies arrayed against the fledgling Jewish state. In fact, no one thought the Jews would survive -- which is why the international community allowed the creation of the modern Jewish state to begin with -- throw the Jews a bone following the horrors of World War II, and thus avoid the need to allow Jews into your country in great numbers. Sound reasoning. Except the Jews won the war, didn't we? And the world has been scrambling ever since trying to deal with the severity of the miscalculation. So, nearly seven decades hence, here we are. You cannot invent what might have been. What might have been; what could have been were two states -- one Jewish, one Arab -- living side by side in peace and harmony, each benefiting from the presence of the other. But not to be. The "Palestinians" chose war. And terror. And endless violence. And brainwashing of "Palestinian" youth so that hatred for Israel will never go away until Israel does. But Israel isn't going away. Just the "Palestinians." No sympathy here. I reserve the full measure of my compassion for people who are worthy recipients. The "Palestinians" are not. Sorry, but you made your bed; now you have to lie in it. If it's lumpy, bumpy and scratchy, that's your problem. Here's another pithy truth: Having sown the wind for seven decades, the "Palestinians" have no choice but to reap the whirlwind. Frankly, your best chance rests with Jordan. Israel isn't going to dismantle settlements and it isn't going to relinquish territory crucial to its survival. And when Judea and Samaria are annexed, most of you will be repatriated to Jordan anyway. Better get started now, before the handful of Iraqi sheikhs and the half-British, half-Iraqi king consolidate their positions. Who knows? Israel might even help you. Or perhaps not. The past seven decades of "Palestinian" misbehavior haven't exactly won you very many friends.

What peaceful Arabs? They all hate Israel; wouldn't mind seeing Israel disappear. The quiet ones are only biding their time. Probably the smart choice -- leaves them with options. Of course, Israel isn't going anywhere. It's time for the "Palestinians" to recognize this. They, on the other hand, need to ply their fantasy in Jordan. it's really the only logical solution.
13. King of the PA
James ,   USA   (05.24.14)
Just a show of support for the PA Hamas thugs. Now, how do you find peace with them when the majority support killers? On top of it all, Obama instructs senate majority leader not to allow vote to withdraw funds from the PA /Hamas terror group. Only way out is to attack Iran and put a stop to the funds of all the terror groups they support. Do a deal with Rusia who seems to be a stronger ally then the US. No more PA, Hamas, Muslim brotherhood, Hezbollah, only peace terms dictated by Israel to the UN.
14. no. he's a murderer. we should have executed him right away.

15. "Palestinians" prefer the biggest murderers.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.24.14)
The more Jews a terrorist has murdered; the more "Palestinians" love them. Israel must adopt the sane policy of promptly executing all captured terrorists.

17. Sarah B. for PM!
David ,   Hartford USA   (05.24.14)
She calls it like it is. Much better than the current leaders who kowtow to world opinion, even when that opinion is so biased it's almost anti-Semitic. And now useful idiots bring Barghouti's name into the ring. A convicted terrorist as the new president of Palestine! That should be enough evidence to prove that 'Palestine' should never be allowed to exist.
18. The Arabs want a convicted mass murderer to lead them...

19. #5 - HOW do you propose to repatriate
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (05.24.14)
anyone to anywhere? Jordan or any other country does NOT have to take any humans you want to dump on them. If you try to do it via the UN, I suspect you will get a minimum of two vetoes if it even came to a vote in the UNSC. Not even the US will support such a move. So, I am very interested in exactly how you are going to do your "magic trick" of making millions of humans "disappear" from the area west of the Jordan River. In the REAL WORLD, none of the non-Jews living west of the Jordan River are going anywhere. That is, they are STAYING exactly where they are and you have to live with that FACT.
20. STUPDGUY, repatriation of Arabs to Mecca, only PEACE chance
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.24.14)
21. AND YOU WONDER WHY THERE IS
Iranian Jew ,   LA USA   (05.24.14)
NO PEACE? Palis keep choosing wrong leaders and that is the real reason why they will never acheive anything as a nation. Instead of trying to show the public that they are looking for peace, they just go after piss. And what they exactly get. Too sad, but life goes on.
22. Barghouti would be very Destabilizing
Zechariah   (05.24.14)
Barghouti as Leader would Infuriate Imomany Israelis and Not Calm the Dispute but inflame it .If Abbas Remains Patient the Palestinians will get Better Conditions and the Militant Jews far less Inflamed. The Centeal core ought agree with an interim agreement and the Palestinians ought Agree .It will develop Slowly .But no jihadi or Fatah Ba'ath Greater Syria can Stay.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.24.14)
When will you learn to check the law before you start blowing air? The 2.5 million Arabs in Judea and Samaria are all Jordanian citizens, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which bestowed Jordanian citizenship on all West Bank Arabs and their progeny (that's key), irrevocably. Oh, to be sure, Jordan has tried on several occasions to rescind that law. The International Court of Justice in The Hague has ruled, on each occasion, that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- irrevocable. The country of citizenship of an individual cannot refuse re-entry of its citizens. That's not a "magic trick;" that's black letter law. Israel is not going to "dump" anyone on any country. We are repatriating Jordanian citizens to the country of their citizenship. That's the real world, sluggo. I suggest you remove your spyglass from where you usually keep it, wash the lens, and have a good long look at realpolitik. And international law. All that said -- what better solution? Israel's clear right and title to Judea and Samaria are indisputable. Use your spyglass -- clean it first -- to scope out international law as concerns the acquisition of nonsovereign territory in a defensive war. Judea and Samaria are Israel's to settle, retain and even annex. That the Arabs therein are all Jordanian citizens is merely the icing on the cake. We are going to send them home, as we have every right to do, and perhaps -- given the fact that the overwhelming majority of Jordanians are "Palestinian" -- they can see about wresting their country back from the handful of Iraqi sheikhs that control it. That's the only fact you have to live with. Nothing wrong on this earth with repatriating Jordanians to Jordan. I defy you to suggest otherwise. West Bank Arabs are not suitable recipients of the grace of Israeli citizenship. Too violent, too terrorist-driven, too murderous and far too corrupt. They'll never make trustworthy Israelis. That much we have learned; the hard way.
24. # 19 They have choices...
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!!   (05.24.14)
they can leave voluntarily or in coffins, Take yer pick,, either way, no pals in Israel. No other arabs want them either. The bottom of the barrel. And yes, any nation would take them in if, they had some of the wasted monies spent to keep there terrorists alive. BUILDING THE pals OUT OF ISRAEL...!!!! KEEP BUILDING !!!!
25. #19 easy
(05.24.14)
PLO, the EU, Meretz and the Obama regime all support ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria. So if these luminaries know how it is possible to ethnically cleanse Jews, I am sure they could use the same methods to repatriate the Arabs.
26. re#12. And your a voice of peace Sarah?
Arab Jew ,   Rabat   (05.24.14)
You are no better than the Palestinian Arabs you despise. Nothing less than a bonafide racist. Your brain has been warped to believe that you will actually keep the West Bank in the end. Everyone with a brain knows how the map will eventually look, we just don't know how many more deaths on both sides will occur until we get to that point in time.
