1. Bravo Ya'alon!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.10.14)
All he is doing is reflecting the trend in Israel, which is decidedly hawkish. We're a sovereign state; we do not take marching orders from a United States administration that is, to put it kindly, inept and incompetent and decidedly Arabist. The European Union has far too much grisly baggage with respect to the Jewish people, for which it will never atone. That they wish us away in order to feel good about themselves is their problem; not ours. Nor does Israel need to fall all over itself trying to accommodate a terrorist rabble that will settle for nothing less than the destruction of the State of Israel, whether in one fell swoop or in stages, the way the American administration seems to prefer. Sorry to disappoint, but Israel is here to stay, it will annex Judea and Samaria, and it will deport all West Bank Arabs to Gaza, where they can indulge their latest fantasy of a unity government. It is time we assert ourselves. Ya'alon knows this, and his comments merely reflect the attitude of a majority of Israelis.
2. yet
(06.10.14)
last week Yaalon sent forces to illegally destroy Jewish homes while ignoring illegal Arab building. What's the point of big talk, if on the ground you are building an Arab state?
3. yet if you change an agreement to be
(06.10.14)
exactly what is listed in Shep's posting, do you get peace? because if you write on paper one thing, but in the hearts and minds of people, all these things haven't changed, in ten years when life has changed, the agreement frays, lists don't work. Concepts work, that is our nature, who in their life has made a list and always kept it? What the Palestinians and Israelis need to work out they need to 'work out'. By working out, I mean they need to work it out all the time, two festering, boiling pots living side by side all the time won't work; they need to flex so they can have peace.
4. EU+US should assert talks lead to peace+not free concessions
Sam ,   Canada   (06.10.14)
For the money they give THE US and EU want talks between the Palestinians and Israel. However, the Palestinians come into talks rejecting a Jewish Israel and demanding free concessions. This has to stop if talks are to lead anywhere.
5. While a most welcome development let's not fool ourselves:
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.10.14)
it is Arabs themselves that have saved us from ourselves. Unity govt. was a great way to cement our "hawkishness". Still it is true, that the average Israeli on the street, is beginning to slowly emerge from the drugged state of "peace making", Oslo style. Great news for Israel, finally.
6. We didn't take anything off the table
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.10.14)
The Arabs have never attempting to make peace. It has been totally on us only. The Arabs have to want peace and they don't. Many of us have been saying this for 20 years. Better late than never Boogie
7. # 1 SARAH B.
Robert S Levine ,   Las Terrenas,DR   (06.10.14)
Well said !!!!!!!!
8. Standard of sucess
ab5678 ,   USA   (06.10.14)
Israel has successfully managed to take peace negotiations with the Palestinians off the agenda, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said Tuesday Wow!, I guess the world thumbing it's nose against Israel during the issue of working with the Palestinian unity government is considered a success by the defense minister. I can imagine the standard at Ya'alon household. Daddy I got a 'D' in Physics, Heck yeah, my boy, you are the best, just like Einstein.
9. "The Art of love"...
Adler   (06.10.14)
Erich Fromm suggested in his book that especially in Western politics...and societies "being lovable is essentially a composition of being popular and having charm" . Great book if you find the time to read it
10. Sarah B and Robert Levine
John ,   USA   (06.10.14)
If your comments reflect the reality on the ground in Israel then she is doomed. You're delusional if you think Israel exists through divine providence. Israel exists in a real world and relies on many outside forces for her survival. Alienation from those forces will certainly result in the collapse of the Zionist project, and Israel will certainly alienate her self from her supporters if she were to try and ethnically cleanse the West Bank.
11. there never were peace talks
CJK   (06.10.14)
there were dicta being pronounced at least every week by obama, the little emperor. there can be no peace between israel and the arab muslims as long as they remain undeveloped and immature in their interactions with fellow humans.
12. Of course
Giora Me'ir ,   USA   (06.10.14)
The government was never serious about it in the first place. Occupation, colonization, ethnic cleansing is what it believes.
13. Kudoes Too Moshe (Boogie) Ya'alon
(06.10.14)
Finally someone with a Pair Of Batsum to set the record straight!!! Mozel Tov
14. Israel peace fault of PA, not Israel
Leon Hale ,   Adl, South Australia   (06.11.14)
Judea and Samaria and all the "west Bank"" and also part of Jordon is the land of Israel
15. Bravo ***Sarah*** at No.1 !!!!!
