While there does indeed appear to be animosity between the prime minister and the president elect, the conclusions of the article make little sense. As president Rivlin may have nominal influence over the composition of the next coalition, but it's difficult to imagine what influence he will have over the Likud's leadership race, and without a victory there, Saar of course will have no chance at the premiership. Rivlin could select a different faction to lead the coalition in the event of a no confidence vote or a new election, of course, but he is a man of deep Zionist conviction. While it is difficult to imagine that he will do anything to interfere with the democratic mandate, due to his personal integrity and democratic values, it is equally difficult to conceive that he would do anything to hasten the erosion of the Zionist dream, unless in some tragic circumstance the will of the people expressed itself in that direction. If anything this article appears to be wishful thinking on the part of those who sadly cheer for that dismal prospect.

When watching Rivlin on TV he always seems to appear as a a loud mouthed bombastic and egotistic person. He seems to think that raising his voice will impress the viewers.
