the united states cannot and should not outsource its national security to the totalitarian theocratic islamist revolutionary state of iran. iran is the premier terror state in the world, one that has killed numerous americans and westerners, and kidnapped and tortured others. iran has been arming, training, financing terror proxies in numerous countries in the middle east, with a brazen attempt to spread its hegemony and its shia revolutionary doctrine. iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program with the aim of achieving its goal of nuclear blackmail and nuclear terror. iran has aided the butcher assad to commit genocide on nearly two hundred thousand syrians, of whom many are children and women and unarmed men. iran has watched as assad's men raped and tortured little children and bombed them from the air. iran is led by psychopathic sadistic leaders who have no regard for human life. the regime in iran is neither worthy nor trustworthy of being in an alliance with any freedom loving nation.

This has it's own momentum, and both Sunnis & Shiites are at that special Arab place in the head where they feel driven to murder and maim till exhaustion brings a halt. When they've slaughtered another for a healthy amount of time, then begin to divide Iraq into fiefdoms or "statelets" for them & the Kurds. The concept of a unified Iraq is finished. A real big NO to US airstrikes. Given enough to that sand pit. The US has to sit on the fence for a time, and let the kids wear themselves out before jumping back to search for a finally acceptable regional reality.

So now the US will provide air cover to Iran as it keeps developing nukes. I think another Nobel prize is in the offing
