1. 1985 Palestinian hijacking
mat ,   uk   (06.18.14)
This was most likely the start of airport tax and because of this all air lines passengers round the world pay a very high price for airport security which who knows how many billions a year people forget
2. it is anti-semetic. shame on them. i will not attend broadca
ralph   (06.18.14)
broadcast theater showings until there are personnel changes.
3. AVANT GARDE, indeed
ASTRONAUT ,   SC, USA   (06.18.14)
This is the result of liberals hailing "avant garde" "artists" like Adams, with "critical acclaim" over his specious "artistic theme" of terrorism and cold-blooded murder. Reap what you have sown, little children.
4. UN HRC chief "alarm"
Alon ,   Bet Shemesh, Israel   (06.18.14)
Why would Navi Pillay be alarmed when the UNHRC itself has fanned the flames or failed to act to quell what has been going on under its nose? Crocodile t(f)ears, anyone?
5. only a coward Jew will think it wil increase anti-semitism
k ,   US   (06.18.14)
If anything it will have the opposite effect as it will make people more sympathetic with the Israelis, but leave it to the American Jewish community who is parnoid about upsetting the anti semites and is more then willing to sacrifice Israel or other Jews in order to save themselves
6. So we aren't going to talk about antisemitism
Susan ,   New York, USA   (06.18.14)
because we are afraid of creating antisemitism? I'm not sure that this is a good thing. But cancelling the broadcast speaks volumes.
7. UK Antisemitism
UR   (06.18.14)
of course, the opera was first performed to critical acclaim in the UK - concerns about anti-semitism never get beyond the point of hot air in the UK. In fact, the UK has been the ideological source for the rise in antisemtism, producing successive examples of the delegitimization of Israel (BDS being the most glaring)
8. Met
joan ,   ramat aviv   (06.18.14)
Would the Met even consider an opera that eskews Islamphobia? Perhaps the Jewish donors should reconsider their contributions.
9. who is this dude Mike O'Diomasaigh - and why does Ynet...
Rafi ,   US   (06.19.14)
... provide him a forum for his obvious racism and ant--Semitic screeds...? Is anybody awake in the office reading & screening his rubbish ?
10. Europe has 1,000 yr history of Anti-semitism...
Billy   (06.19.14)
"Europe's treatment of its Jewish minorities remains a highly sensitive issue, with memories of the Holocaust in World War II still haunting the continent." This is an understatement...Europe has 1,000 year history of Anti-Semitism. WHEN WILL THEY LEARN?
11. #7:Everybody loves to talk about Polish antisemitism, but
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.19.14)
conveniently forgets the highly professional, sophisticated and institutionalized British form of the disease. BTW: they should run a double feature and give folks that enlightened piece of Art called "My Name is Rachel Corrie". Just to make sure that whoever missed the message during the "Opera" will finally get it...oh and it's British too!
12. PICKET the Met. Donors should pull funding.
Zvi   (06.21.14)
Picket the showing. Donors should contact them, express extreme displeasure and tell them that Jewish donors are no longer willing to fund an organization that plans to become a purveyor of hate mongering anti-Semitic propaganda.
13. NY Opera
Morty Mooze ,   Montreal, Canada   (07.02.14)
Is there more to sing about? What ever happened to love & romance?
