How can there be no video surveillance at these hitchhiking posts? How much does it cost to put up a stinking miniature remote video camera?
Maybe the clever folks at Given Imaging can squeeze a GPS transmitter into a pill that a person could take before going out. The location of the person could be followed on the internet via cell towers.
The kidnappers will destroy the phone but the location signal will be going strong. A great idea for soldiers going into dangerous areas.
