1. It's true - Zoabi is not like other Arabs living in Israel
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (06.27.14)
She is unmarried, childless and probably has nothing better on her mind than the bitterness that life has given her - so she expresses herself or self-destructs by hating Israel. Amazing thing is, is why do we let her continue to live in Israel ?
2. Ha"Shem's Will
EF Barasch ,   Sacrameto USA   (06.27.14)
I am an ardent Zionist. I am also an ardent fan of the Israeli Arabs. I have felt and have felt for some time that it is Ha"Shem's intent that Jews and Arabs live together in the same country and, at the end of the day, work things out and that in so doing, together, become a Light Unto All Nations.
3. Why,No Arab -Pro Israel Opp. on 'Ha Habayit ?
Roland ,   london England   (06.27.14)
4. Who the hell does Mr.Safadi takes us for? Even bigger idiots
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.27.14)
than we really are? Arabs "shocked" by any harm done to their youth?! Like when? When they send them to blow up amongst the infidels and throw candy in the streets afterwards? The Jihado fascists have become used to the gullible Jews/Israelis jumping eagerly at every opportunity presented to them, to show their(ours) "commitment" to peace. Judging by the tbs. it's working. Stop being Useful Tools, brothers!
5. Humanitarian Feelings Welcome
Zechariah   (06.27.14)
Those Gentiles who want to live in Peace with their Jewish neighbours and accepted a humanitarian Arabism with humanitarian Islamic tradition have many soul mates in Eretz Yisroel which is moulded on reaction to pogroms the Holocausts and humanitarian Jewish values even amongst the Religious.
6. Ms Finger Wagging Zoabi
Tim ,   Brighton   (06.27.14)
A failed self obsessed politician and a complete let down for the Israelis she is supposed to represent Rather than help build bridges, help expand education and opportunities for the young, encourage National Service, support the Peace Process - she creates barriers, ostracises Israeli Arab kids for doing or wanting to do National Service and undermining a generation of Israeli Arabs from fulfilling their potential in the wider Israeli Society... More concerning though is her recent attitude toward the kidnappings Her silence and refusal to condemn the perpetrators, show any support or even sympathy to the families while the rest of Israeli Jews, Arabs, Christian, Bahai stood firm and united in support shows just how out of touch she is As so many Israeli Arab friends who visit the UK say...she is one of the BIGGEST OBSTACLES to Israeli Arab progress denying the Israeli Arab Community the chances and the status and lifestyle that SHE openly EMBRACES and ENJOYS As for the issue of National Service whilst she says to Israeli Arabs...'Shame on You' for wanting to serve...THEY ARE SAYING in their THOUSANDS - in National Service they are PROUD to want to play a part to protect their families, protect their communities, protect their way of life, protect their freedoms, protect their democracy, protect their fellow citizens and protect their country So the question we have to ask...do we take it that Zoabis refusal to condemn the perpetrators..proves .implicit support for the crime
7. them 'n us
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (06.27.14)
The Arabs have Hanin Zoabi and we have Dr. Ruchama Weiss. Two idiots who live to make outlandish statements. They live in a place of never never land which has captured their brain.
8. We know it's all lies because...
Jhan   (06.27.14)
Mohammedans have not spoken out on any of the atrocities they've been doing since the start of the Mohammedan religion. Jihad is an integral part of that religion, so is lying to the 'unbelievers' as a strategy for deceit.
9. This article isn't about Zoabi
RickD ,   USA   (06.27.14)
The article doesn't mention Zoabi at all. Not. Once. Adding her name to the title and her photo to the description is just some ynet nonsense to get people to read the article. It's dishonest. The author provides an honest and frankly unexpected discussion of Arab-Israeli opinions and feelings. I don't know if his opinions are the majority or one in 1000. I do know that the Arabs in the Knesset don't represent his opinions of peaceful coexistence. He should work to get Arab-Israeli Knesset representatives that more closely represent his opinions. That is the way forward to peaceful coexistence.
10. Not all Palestinians support Zoabi
Gary ,   South Africa   (06.27.14)
Great words - it is comforting to know that there are real men amongst the Arab population that are prepared to stand up and be counted amongst the civilised world and genuinely work towards peace.
11. Thank you for this letter
Naomi   (06.27.14)
i also hope co existence will improve, especially among Israeli Arabs and Jews. Unfortunately there are many Hanin Zoabi around. That is why people like you are important in raising a new generation and teaching them to love peace.
12. At least Zibi is openly honest and Israel is on guard
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (06.27.14)
13. You are not ALL like Hanin Zoabi
Israeli 2   (06.27.14)
which I believe is true. Her family member has done a great and honorable job showing it and therefore you will always be welcome to live with us, be part of us and enjoy your fruits of labor as equals. Unfortunately, the not ALL of you part is indeed very few. 10% at best.....and this will remain a big big problem with the remaining 90% who continue to be schooled hating Jews and believing that the the land is yours including Haifa and Tel Aviv.
14. Good article, ty !
cfspirit ,   fr and dz   (06.27.14)
15. Not all Israeli Arabs are like Hanin Zoabi
michele moreno ,   netanya   (06.27.14)
Bravo Mr Safadi, you are right saying that our efforts should be focused on the youth, and have them meet and learn to trust each other. Lets hope that more Israelis find their ways together to strenghten the values of our country.
16. This guy for PA President!
David ,   Hartford USA   (06.27.14)
Then, just maybe, peace would have a chance.
17. Finally hearing more and more of this.
jrebecca ,   Modiin   (06.27.14)
Finally, the silent majority of Arabs are starting to speak out. There are a number of articles like this going around. Maybe, finally, we can see some possibilities of peace.
18. To post 9
Adler   (06.27.14)
He said he love's Israel
19. EF Barasch
Ehud   (06.27.14)
1. 'Ardent Zionists' live in Israel, not Sacramento; 2. If you really have 'felt for done time' you know what 'Hashem' wants - go see a psychiatrist
20. Israel is also a mosaic......
Koose E Mack ,   NY USA   (06.27.14)
Arabs who serve in the IDF, pay taxes, and support Israel are our brothers and sisters; fellow countrymen. Be they Christian, Muslim, Druze...it makes no difference if they live among us in peace and accept Jews as their fellow citizens. Aside from that, Mohammad Zoabi, the nephew of "the traitor", has a good chance to go far in Israeli Politics....
21. From a Jewish Educator to an Arab educator
Itiel ,   Israel   (06.27.14)
I suppose that you know that the main goal of Education is not the mere transmission of information, but the formation of citizens who are able to ACT intelligently and in a responsible way, in accordance to the demands of life’s different needs and circumstances, such as expressed in our own social environment. One of Israel’s most illustrious Educators, Shlomo HaMelekh, said that, “There is a time to kill and a time to heal.” Well, due to the constant threats and ACTIONS of Arab terrorism against our population – now “crowned” with this miserable and cowardly abduction of our three teenagers –the time has come to kill all those terrorists that want to kill us, and our children, and grand-children, and destroy our Holy and millenarian nation, from their hiding place behind their own children and women so as to escape JUSTICE. This is something that Arab educators should address publicly. Your words are addressed to calm us Jews – after all, we are all parents of these dear teenagers – but your educative words should have been addressed to your own people in order to teach them to stop hating us, and that this Land belongs to the Jewish people, even according to the Koran, etc. What happens that every time I read some “conciliatory” Arab voice it is always addressed to us Jews and never to the Arabs condemning terrorism – without equating it to a sultry “price tag,” as you do, thus inciting even more both sides. I do not see any “Arabs for Jews” movement, or “Let’s stop Arab terrorism NOW” or placards in Arabs schools and neighborhoods saying “Stop terrorism!”, “Let’s live at peace.” What about teaching the Arab children that in 1948 the Arab Legionnaires told the Arab population to go out of Israel, and that such is the cause of the refugee problem? What about teaching them that we extended our invitation for them to stay, but they refused? What about teaching them that this Land, before the Jews started to return in the 1800s was inhabited, mainly by Jews and Christians? What about teaching them that with the economic development only achieved through Jewish effort, new fountains of jobs were created for the Arabs from all the nations around, and that THEN the Country started to have a vibrant Arab influx? What about teaching them that in no other country in the Middle East or Africa do Arabs enjoy so much freedom and opportunities? What about teaching them that through terrorism they will ONLY achieve death in return? You will excuse me, my fellow educator, buy not even I, and old Educator, can believe your words or expressed intentions in your article. We have plenty of Liberal “peace-pushers” to push us Jews in Israel, but what I do not see in one single “peace-pusher” to push the Arabs in their own midst. (Forgive me the redundancies, but they were needed). Let us remember that, as the song goes, when it comes from Arabs, we Jews need “More Than Words.”
22. #9

Barney Rubble   (06.27.14)
28. Then why the 400 protesters today
Ted   (06.27.14)
29. Well, Mr. Safadi
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.29.14)
You have a nice government job with the Ministry of Education. Where did you serve in the IDF?
30. Then why do you vote to Zoabi's party?
we are not stupid   (06.29.14)
Its not only Zoabi. Agbaria also said the kidnappers are not terrorists. So why most of the Arabs in Israel voted for the parties of Zoabi (Balad) and Agbaria (Hadash) ? Liberman is right and the Muslims in Israel are a fifth column.
