The barbaric murders of these three young boys have many, many people clammoring for revenge with some calling for more settlements in the West Bank. All that will do is prolong the conflict and result in the deaths of more Israelis and more Palestinians. If Netanyahu truly desired a peaceful resolution of the Israeli Palestinian conflict he would use this horrible event to push for a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians. There will always be people opposed to any agreement that ends the conflict but the perpetual cycle of violence is never going to end until a bold, aggressive leader steps forward and shakes up the status quo. Enough blood and enough tears have been shed by both sides for far too long. Now is the time to work for a two State solution where Palestinians can have the dignity they deserve and Israeli's can have the security they need. Palestinians can lob rockets from Gaza and murder innocent Israeli children and Israel can bomb Gaza and put thousands of Palestinians in prison and this will go on an on and on. Now is the time for a brave leader to push for a lasting peace and not worry about opinion polls. Now is the time for Netanyahu and Abu Mazen to have a joint news conference calling for the end of the state of war between Israel and the Palestinians and commit to an agreement within the next twelve months. That will be the most fitting memorial to the murdered youths.
