Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.15.14)
2. Israel lost big.
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (07.15.14)
Netanyahu is all mouth and no teeth... a backside sans backbone. He will let Hamas decide when to begin hostilities and and he will let them decide when to end them. I see no white flags. The tunnels are still there and it won't take long before Hamas replenishes their stockpile of rockets. Israel lost big.
3. "Mano e Mano"

Chaim ,   Israel   (07.15.14)
and get ground forces into Gaza? Why chickening again when it's so clear that Hamas is anxiously waiting for ground forces and have no intentions of stopping?
7. Hamas created this mess in Gaza
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.15.14)
Let THEM answer to the People of Gaza Why they started this conflict Why they chose to sacrifice Gaza to feed their hate for Israel Why in all the years of INDEPENDENCE whilst a small number have got wealthy beyond dreams the rest of Gaza remains in dire poverty Why they measure their success by the number of Rockets fired and not the number of Roads built Where they measure their success by the number of Gazans killed and not the number of Gazans saved Rather than calling for Gaza to THANK them for PROTECTION they should be BEGGING for Gazas FORGIVENESS
8. To "Mano e Mano" in Wash. DC

Non-Jew ,   True Apartheid Islam   (07.15.14)
For what? More destruction and death? I seen your childish rantings elsewhere all over the place - do you have nothing else to do? What an imbecile.
10. Understanding Hamas
Robert Haymond ,   Teko'a, Israel   (07.15.14)
You cannot evaluate Hamas, its values and thinking, from a normal western perspective. As one leader said, "We love death the way Jews appreciate life." For Hamas and its interpretation of the Muslim perspective, the more death the better if the people are dying on behalf of the religion's ideal, in this case, the taking back of the land which they maintain was once theirs. As a result, each and every child who gets injured or dies shielding their warriors from Israeli bombardment is a martyr, a hero, and is to be sanctified. And, what's more, the more deaths the better. This is an inverted way of thinking but it is necessary to understanding the Hamas mindset.
11. Cease Fire
Steve Gure ,   Coconut Creek USA   (07.15.14)
I am ashamed of the Israeli leadership. It is clear that the Hamas leadership is much better. At least they know why they are fighting . The israelis are acting like cowards.
12. Annual Teeth cleaning operation
Alex   (07.15.14)
Lots of stain this time.
13. To: A at No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.15.14)
They are destroying the homes that double as command-and-control installations. Given the heavy embargo in place, it will not be easy to replace what Israel has destroyed. Israel has also destroyed all cell phone towers in Gaza, and both Egypt and Israel are jamming all attempts to lock onto a signal source in Egypt and Israel, respectively. I know that you are not a big fan of Prime Minister Netanyahu, but he has managed this latest clash with Hamas rather masterfully. Israel has shown itself to be reasonable, and willing to comply with a brokered cease fire. Hamas is the one that refused. So the IAF allowed several missiles to be fired into Israel -- and Hamas got caught with its pants down. They did not expect the IAF to resume bombing in Gaza -- and Israel is doing a wonderful job of destroying whatever was left of Gaza's infrastructure. Israel has some more softening up to do, and then the tanks will go in and clean up what needs to be cleaned up.
14. We need patience
naro ,   jerusalem   (07.15.14)
It took NATO 120 days of daily aerial bombing to defeat serbia in Kosovo. Israel needs to be patient and continue bombing infrastructure, and rocket launching and storage area. NATO destroyed 40 churches and 2 hospitals, as well as killing 2000 civilians, and destroyed 40,000 buildings. Israel need to continue bombing. The majority of Palestinians will be very grateful if Israel could destroy the Hamas cancer that is killing them.
15. #3 Get off the computer - you're making a fool of yourself
Non-Jew ,   True Apartheid Islam   (07.15.14)
You and that imbecile Benassi make a good pair.
16. HAMAS/Gaza winning the War
Brod ,   USA   (07.15.14)
Hamas is sensing that Israel is becoming impotent. Israel's deterrence is eroding fast. Ergo, they are pummeling Israel with more barrages of rocket bombs. The fact is until Israel sends in its ground forces, Hamas will win the War. It is time Israel's political leaders stop meddling in how the military does its work. It is time to stop letting Obama the Islamist and Kerry the Papist intrude in how Israel defends itself effectively. The IAF alone is not enough especially if HAMAS employs their foot soldiers of children. It is time to win the War decisively.
17. I am a military genius. Look how I put Hamas in a corner.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.15.14)
18. Iran advanced technology. 100% failure rate. One drone down,

19. On the way to bankruptcy ,...
split ,   US   (07.15.14)
$75.000 iron dome rocket against $75 Hamas' flying gutter, population in bunkers instead at work, tourism kaput, public image abroad stinks, what a mess ,...
20. Smart move
John ,   Herzliya   (07.15.14)
This was a very smart move, so don't criticize (this time) Bibi. So called proposal was far from acceptable for Hamas and their rejection gives green light to continue. Good spin.
21. #1, Benass, I think Israel is well aware of that trap
Jake   (07.15.14)
That is why there hasn't been a ground op. But be careful what you wish for, Benass. If Israel continues to be terrorized by Hamas, physical occupation of Gaza will be accompanied by physical transfer.
22. Ynet is twisting peoples' words again
Jake   (07.15.14)
The IDF official did not say that a ground operation "would be necessary". He said it has high chances of success. You put words in peoples' mouths, again.
23. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.15.14)
How's it working out for Hamas so far? Terrorists do not know how to conduct wars. All they know is terror. What do you think will happen when Israel decides that collateral damage is a fact of war -- a war which Hamas started? Terrorists are cowards. Their goal in their pitiful existences is to inspire fear. Except they're dealing with the State of Israel. The Jewish State. It is not possible to frighten people for which the Holocaust is real, or who were unceremoniously expelled from Arab and Moslem lands with little more than the clothes on their backs. In 1948, Israel was outnumbered 10,000 to 1, and was attacked on three fronts by five invading Arab armies. We prevailed. We prevailed again, and again and yet again. Hamas doesn't have what it takes to go up against highly trained Israeli soldiers. Hamas will run like frightened little girls. I realize that this really frosts your shorts, but -- deal with it as best you can.
24. no. 19 fail again. 20k x 150 downed rockets = $3million
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.15.14)
Even with your crooked math this is just over $10 million in a $30 billion military budget and $300 billion economy. Your brothers in Hamas spent more than that in hundreds of rockets and many hundreds of millions of dollars destroyed infrastructure while they haven't paid salaries to their lower ranks for months now. Take this bitter pill while reading Quran for relaxation from Jewish stress.
25. #19 spit
DavidR ,   USA   (07.15.14)
You have my deepest sympathy for your personal financial loss. We will gladly replace your gutter. But as to your public image and the stink you describe, I can only suggest that you have a bath.

27. Israelis still suffer from empty building bombing syndrome
Jhan   (07.15.14)
And there doesn't appear to be a cure on the horizon...
28. media of continuing campaign needs careful management
(07.15.14)
Israel need to manage both the military and especially the media which will be shocked at the failure of the ceasefire even if it was Hamas rejection
29. Blame Bibi and his buddies.
Dan ,   USA   (07.15.14)
Israel's weak kneed politicians will pull defeat from the jaws of victory.
