1. Collective guilt, collective hammering
Cameron ,   USA   (07.17.14)
Haunted & plagued by their own psyche.
2. above
moishe   (07.18.14)
people really deserve the government they get and should suffer the consequences if the don't have the brains to rebel to remove it. an ongoing situation in much of Islam ME. a religion of peace and a rule of death and destruction.
3. Why to rebel?
Tomi ,   Budapest Hungary   (07.18.14)
This opinion assumes that the Gazans might have rebelled. Maybe. But on the other hand most of their population is brain washed, beleiving that they are the true freedom fighters against the evil of Jews. This was the case of Nazi Germany, too. Half of the Germans thougt they are on the good side vs world Jewry. If you are on the side of the murderers ( even if you are not aware of the facts and the basic humanity at all) there is no incentive to rebel. The obsessed terrorists and their sympathyzers do not rebel...
4. obviously
rm ,   NL Amsterdam   (07.18.14)
the 'I would have liked to spare them' bit is put in to make it look like the writer cares.....He doesn't. It's just another drivel about a deep-rooted feeling/believe in Israel that all palestinians are guilty. And thus...they all need to be punished....
5. Written charters are hugely influential
Dan   (07.18.14)
Few Americans have read their Constitution but they all know in a fuzzy way that they are all meant to be quaky and have rights to freedom of speech and personal armouries. Israelis in the same fuzzy way know Jews are entitled to a state, this state on this land. Australians have recently been advised by their government that bigotry is their right. Similarly members of Hamas 'know' at a deep level that Jews are evil subhumans and Israel has no right to exist. If foundation documents had no effect they would not exist. Change the document and you change the fuzzy understanding people have of where they stand. When the Arabs have constitutions that proclaim equality and toleration, but not before that, the game will finally start to change.
6. Shiffa Hospital
marucho ,   Bs. Aires Argentina   (07.17.14)
Some people say that the basement of Shiffa Hospital in Gaza hides all the HamasĀ“ top chieves and their core net of command. The doctors that operate that Hospital should wisely and publicly denounce that situation, so that Israel should not have the necessity to blow it up with all its content.
7. Peaceful Gazans
Steve Gure ,   Coconut Creek USA   (07.17.14)
There are no innocent civilians in Gaza. They elected those that are firing misles at Israel and they certainly know their charter which is to eliminate Israe.
8. this is only half right
ayatollah ghilmeini ,   usa   (07.17.14)
the fact is normal people living under terrorist governments don't have good options, they have no options. Anyone standing up to Arafat or Hamas, when guys like that are in control, speak out and they will shoot you. I happen to think that much valuable intelligence comes from the disaffected of Gaza. We should have pity these people. They have no one fighting for them. Let us hope that when Israel goes into Gaza, a real democratic opposition will rise. The Tamarud movement in Egypt might extent itself to Gaza. If Israel has to sacrifice her sons to cleaning up Gaza, make it worth the price- put a foundation in place that might one day lead to peace. Maybe Egypt will send peacekeepers after Gaza is cleared of Hamas....
9. We are victims, victims, victims, on & on
Same old shit   (07.18.14)
We are not to blame, its their fault, jews are free of all responsibility, the world is against us, Obama is antisemitic, Pope Francis is antisemitic, Dala Lama is an antisemite, the hollow cause,
10. missing point
salam ,   Gaza   (07.18.14)
you have stolen our lives Sir, so do not pretend being innocent, you ignore your occupation, siege, steeling land, bombing and expect us to defend your interests, how come?
11. # salam - gaza

12. #10....Missing point?
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.18.14)
What are you babbling about? Have you been so brainwashed that you have stopped thinking straight? 'you have stolen our lives Sir, so do not pretend being innocent, you ignore your occupation, siege, steeling land, bombing and expect us to defend your interests, how come?' First Israel does not Occupy Gaza Second the Siege as you call it was the direct result of Hamas Aggression AFTER that became independent to stop further build up of rockets and rocket attacks for their 'avowed holy war to destroy Israel' as ENSHRINED in their Charter 'Steeling' land....so now you are speaking for West Bank...or Gaza or what..? We are quite capable of dealing with our own affairs...so as for 'steeling' land from Gaza ...where was that..exactly? But worst of all....you conveniently ignore the fact that Hamas have sucked Gaza dry with their corruption, they have squandered even AID to fund rockets and most of all THEIR POCKETS How can you sit in Gaza with all this mayhem around DEFENDING your Fancy Boy Macho Mashaal while he sits comfortably in a bunker happy to sacrifice 'AS MANY GAZA LIVES AS IT TAKES'....for what? WHERE are the Roads, the Industry, the prosperity for Gazans that the few MILLIONAIRES in Hamas enjoy? Then Hamas try to export their brand of evil under the guise of 'unity' to the West Bank? Then JUSTIFY rocket attacks on Israeli Arabs and West Bank Palestinians because 'They are all Israeli and all Israelis are our enemies' Wake up Mr 'Salam'..there is a better way Maybe in the eye of the storm you don't see just how lunatic. how insane, how mindless Hamas have become maybe made worse by the viscious internal power struggles taking place as we speak Mr 'Salam' I wish you peace and safety and most of all a normal peaceful life which we all deserve
13. #10 u stole your own lives, we left gaza u sent rockets
Naftulee ,   Jerusalem   (07.18.14)
All the gazans needed to do pursue peace after Israel left gaza. Instead they proved the can't handle living next to us in peace by continually launching rockets at israel. If gazes could of just done 1year without rockets all crossings would of been open. They could not even wait that long. The Arab dream of destroying Israel is alive and well in gaza
14. Salam,Gaza
miron ,   Milan,Italy   (07.18.14)
Your ancestors came from other countries and occupied the Jewish historical lands, not your lands. But they did not know and moved in good faith! That's why you should stop to hate and incite, stop your terrorism and begin living in peace with the Israelis.
15. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.18.14)
We didn't steal ANYTHING. You thought you could win wars against Israel, and you could not. Moreover, Israel withdrew from Gaza completely in 2005. Israel has been far more generous than you deserve; where do you think your electricity comes from? How about all the humanitarian aid -- tens of thousands of metric tons on a weekly basis. Where do you get fresh water from? All of it provided free of charge, as is Israeli medical care. While you do nothing but fire missiles at Israeli civilians. Did you think you could continue with your vile behavior forever? You have been sowing the wind for years. Don't bitch and moan when the time comes for you to reap the whirlwind. Our bombing and ground incursions are exclusively in response to missile fire from Gaza aimed directly at Israeli civilian centers. How long did you think Israel was going to ignore that? And do you really think that you're a match for Israel? More fool you.
16. Palestinians are damned if they do. damned if they don't
Talula ,   Israel   (07.18.14)
Maybe some of them knew that voting Hamas was the beginning of the end for any hope they had for the future. Maybe some were threatened or harassed into voting for them. These people are terrified to make a stand now. Their will to remove Hamas would for sure, be met with some sort of horrific death. All they can really do now is either try to free themselves or die trying.
17. Salam. that's not quite true.
Talula ,   Israel   (07.18.14)
Look at the history of the Palestinians. And if you are honest to yourself you will see that with a little determination you could have made Gaza into a spectacular place to live - but you didn't. You live in a bomb site instead because you elected a terrorist body to look out for you. You can hate israel and blame us for whatever you want. Because that's easier than taking accountability for your own actions and those of Hamas. You have been given billions of dollars in aid? Where is it? Its lying in fragments around israel, shot out of the sky. Khalid Marshal is flying around in his own private jet with his mates, living the high life. And ISRAEL is left to supply you with electricity, water and food. And performing life saving surgery on palestinian babies as well as MEMBERS OF KHALID MASHAAL'S FAMILY AND ABU HASSAN'S wife. So really, stop with the sob story. We are all responsible for our own destiny. You voted Hamas, a globally recognised terror group. Did you really think it would end well for you? You are in denial if you thought it would. Habibi, don't bite the hand that feeds you. Bite the hand that has striped you of your life.
18. London caring...
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (07.18.14)
is of the "crying and shooting" variety. Look at what those Palestinians force us moral people to do!! The typical hypocrisy of a liberal Zionist. If the Palestinians would have had the same options as their oppressor, if there would have been some symmetry in this conflict, he would have had a point. But London is part of a powerful colonial empire involved in a brutal war against and indigenous people. That is why his "caring" sounds so hypocritical. I prefer the straightforwardness of right wing Likudniks, who are open about their hostility against the Palestinian people.
