What "occupation?" The NONSOVEREIGN territories Israel acquired/reacquired happened in the course of fighting a defensive war. They are Israel's to settle, retain and even annex. That will happen in Judea and Samaria for sure, and its Arab residents -- Jordanian citizens all, by the way, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which conferred Jordanian citizenship upon all West Bank Arabs and their progeny, irrevocably -- are subject to repatriation to Jordan. They are not, after all, stateless. Or we may clean up Gaza and let them build their "palestinian" state there. But Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005. So there is no "occupation" in any event. For the record, however, I remind you that the "palestinians" are a vanquished people. Territorial losses are part and parcel of ANY war. Especially when the aggressor -- in this case, the Arabs -- lose. But you clearly have missed the point. Hamas and Islamic Jihad and the rest of the terrorist rabble in Gaza have been firing missiles and mortars into Israeli civilian populations for a very long time. That is why there is a blockade in effect -- fully legal and internationally-recognized, according to the United Nations-commissioned Palmer Report. That is why Gazans are no longer allowed to work in Israel. Their response to Israel's generously allowing over 100,000 Gazan Arabs to hold lucrative jobs in Israel was to send suicide bombers. Clearly, you have conveniently forgotten that, too. Israel is a sovereign state and, as such, has an affirmative duty to protect and defend its citizens. Terrorists have no such rights, and they aren't in the least bit interested in serving their constituents. All Hamas' leadership has done is enrich themselves at the expense of the people of Gaza. Finally, I remind you that, under all precepts of international law and convention and the laws which govern armed conflict, Hamas is guilty of war crimes because they have always targeted Israeli civilians, and they are equally guilty of crimes against humanity, because they use their civilian population as human shields. They cache weapons in schools, mosques, hospitals and civilian homes, which turns those weapons, schools, mosques, hospitals and civilian homes into legitimate military targets. You are going to have to bring your "A" game to participate in this forum.
