1. I have a better idea
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (07.23.14)
Put a bounty of $1,000,000 on each of the heads of Haniyeh,Mashal and the rest of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists, dead or alive. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
2. Unconditional surrender
Zev ,   Israel   (07.23.14)
What incentive did the U.S. give Bin Laden or Hitler??
3. How many Decades shall this continue ?
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (07.23.14)
I Quote v- Israel's stick and carrot approach in Gaza Analysis: Even as it is facing military defeat, Hamas must be given enough of an incentive to agree to a ceasefire. Comment You are no warrior. There should be no carrot and Hamas must be destroyed. No savings under the Gallow. Arn.Sweden.
4. Hamas incentive ?! It's called
DT ,   TA Israel   (07.23.14)
elimination- nothing less.
5. Hamas must be given enough of an incentive
Richard Preschel ,   Paris   (07.23.14)
Staying alive is enough as an incentive.
6. Two points
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.23.14)
1. Any outcome that does not leave Hamas publicly humiliated will be seen as a victory for Hamas, making a repeat inevitable. Hamas has to put in a position where it gets no more than an end to fighting with great losses. The Egyptians understand this. 2. Abbas, far from contributing to a solution, is the one who created the problem. He formed the unity government with Hamas in order to weaken Israel and force Israel to make dangerous concessions. He is defending the demands of Hamas. He must not be allowed to succeed.
7. Prosperity will not change the nature of Hamas
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.23.14)
I am surprised at someone astute as Ron Ben- Yishai believing that economic prosperity will bring real calm to a Hamas-ruled Gaza. The focus of Hamas is its ideological and single- minded hatred of Jews and determination to destroy Israel. So long as it is in power Israel can forget about peaceful relations with Gaza.
8. Military defeat? Whose?
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (07.23.14)
It is Israel--so-called--that is about to experience final military defeat at the hands of the Forces of Resistance, and its quick subsequent dissolution!
9. Carrots are a bad idea unless....
Alan ,   Canada   (07.23.14)
With fanatics, there is no carrot that will satisfy their hunger for ultimate victory. Should someone think that a safe meaningless clause in a cease fire proposal is going to help Hamas save face & sign a piece of paper, then YES to such a mini-carrot. But this is really wishful thinking. As is trusting in a Hamas signature with or without carrots.
10. RBY- in the best of worlds
albert snow ,   sweden   (07.23.14)
Lets say´you are right. More than 80 years old and sickening Abbas would play an important role in demilitarising Gaza. Tell me how many years he´ll play that important role, and what will happen the day he resigns? Let me tell you this: If you are relying on ONE OLD palestinian for giving Israel calm and security then you are more stupid I ever could imagine.
11. Total Israeli victory. No lunatic concessions.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.23.14)
Just as the WW II offered the Nazis no concessions; Israel must stop offering lunatic concessions to our mortal "Palestinian" foes. Total Israeli victory is the answer.
12. defeat of one side brings peace. Thell moon & kerry to FO
flatten hamas   (07.23.14)
13. Clever, but overlooks a thing or two
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.24.14)
First, Hamas must be thoroughly humiliated, otherwise it will claim victory and plan for another round as soon as possible. Second, Abbas is not the solution, he is the cause of all this by setting up the unity government. Abbas teamed up with Hamas in order to weaken Israel in advance of future "peace" negotiations.
14. NO truce, only Surrender
paulD ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.23.14)
15. I agree, NATO protection for Gaza, for Gaza demilitarization
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.23.14)
16. Stick & carrot = Hamas accepts ceasefire or dies
Ben ,   USA   (07.23.14)
17. Hamas is a criminal 'n terror org. that must be destroyed!
gk ,   WB, MI, USA   (07.23.14)
18. One incentive only for Hamas: Total surrender or Allah sword
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.24.14)
19. Getting tired of this ceasefire talk!
Z.Z. Coltrane ,   USA   (07.23.14)
The war only ends with the complete decimation of ALL terrorists in Gaza! It's only by a show of strength that one defeats the enemy! All other talk is just capitulation. Go IDF...finish the job! God bless Israel!
20. Stick and carrot ??? I'd give them capital punishment !
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (07.23.14)
Execution is too good for them.
21. American Incentive to the Japanese
GF ,   Jerusalem   (07.23.14)
I would give them the same incentive that the Americans gave the same Japanese !
22. Dear Chaim, it is not so easy.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (07.24.14)
You know how I love and support Israel. Me and other Democrats and Christians around the world. But nowadays, violent actitudes, like Gaza's occupation, and "no concessions", are not accepted by universal citizenship. Israel must retreat from the Strip after destroying Hamas' tunnels. Firmness is very good, since it is connected with humanism that derives from Israeli founding fathers.
23. 18 not mine.

nothing is changed but it is the technology . even i do not interested so far with it .. but i believe that good intention in human progress is more than bad sideffect .g.od create us for building this planet .. i believe this planet will be destroyed by god to have better people to build .. i think it i the aim of creation of humanes>>but sure there is price for action of evry one it is the paradise or hell but in degrees
25. Unconditional surrender nothing less
Bill ,   Skokie U.S.A.   (07.24.14)
Once Hamas surrenders and agrees to the terms (demilitarization) a new page can be turned in the lives of the Palestinian population of Gaza. A future of peace, prosperity, and hope. Normal lives Governed by a responsible government that won't cause destruction to be rained down upon them. The world community Israel included would like nothing better than to build Gaza into a world class destination. But without the proper terms and conditions it will be a waste of money and time only to be destroyed again, and again. Stay the course, "Unconditional surrender nothing less"!
26. casualties among Israelis
Amin AL Rashid ,   Patna, India   (07.24.14)
The world is not considering the atrocities and casualties inflicted upon the Israelis by the rockets fired by Hamas- pathetic.
27. 8
Birdi ,   Israel   (07.24.14)
Dream on.

an it is not mine ..in these day the importance is what it is written not who is the one .. i see most of these --whos--can not regognize a well solution as they think about personal or group benifit not lookin a the whole solution for all of the people in israil and gaza and the nouberhood and the far states in west and east from the first i sadi that thsi conflict is not mor than israil and palastine so peace with egypt or jordan or with iran will not end the probelm ..i think israil had spent effort and time by its stratigy to make it is not palastine and israil conflict
29. #22. Total Israeli victory equals permanent peace.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.25.14)
#22 Luiz. I appreciate your good intentions, though I disagree with you. Judea, Samaria and Gaza have belonged to Jews for more than 4,000 years. Israel is not an "occupier". Total Israeli victory over "Palestinians" equals permanent peace, just as the WW II Allies' total victory brought permanent peace to Europe and Asia.
