1. Buddhist funeral
B.A. ,   Bern, CH   (07.28.14)
Just pray 49 days, when the bodyless "counsciousness" is vulnerable before rebirth in one of the 6 realms. Why the body cannot be cremated in Israel. It would be easier to send only the ashes back home if he had family. Amituofo. A Buddhist.
2. reparations?
expatokie ,   rehovot, israel   (07.28.14)
Since he is not a citizen I assume he will receive no compensation from Israel. Is anyone collecting funds for his family? No doubt he was here to support his family and maybe even his extended family. It's so sad.

Why are you assuming facts not in evidence? I am certain that both the State of Israel and Moshav Netiv Ha'Asara will compensate the family quite generously.

Perhaps his family would like to see him one last time and conduct a ceremony themselves. Israel is not interested in what is cheap, convenient and expeditious. The State of Israel would have contacted the family, and abided by their wishes. Israel, after all, is the civilized side of the current military engagement. Hamas would have thrown this man's corpse in the garbage. Please do keep that in mind. Hamas are Islamists, and close ideological cousins of the Taliban. Do you remember what the Taliban did to the ancient Buddhist statues in Afghanistan?
