1. 4 israeali dead and 6 wounded by mortars
hymie   (07.30.14)
idf soldiers should have shelters at rallying points and not stand around exposed. Bibi, get off your ass, yaalon-have concrete shelters placed at rallying points. You are responsible for these fatalities and injureis as hamas is aiming their mortars at vulnerable israelis. Protect the soldiers you bloody embeciles!
2. Disregard for Human Life
Naomi ,   Tel Aviv   (07.30.14)
Israelis too seem have to have a huge disregard for the lives of their peers, just like our enemies do. We see it on the roads here all the time. And now we're seeing how negligent the generals are being towards the safety of their soldiers. It's absolutely disgraceful.
3. there should be portable concrete shelters at rallying point
sid   (07.30.14)
idf and gantz-get off your asses and set up shelters at rallying points that protect troops when needed. What kind of crap is this? And gantz-enough of your emotioinal expressions for losses of gazans and israelis and execute the plan as chief of staff.
4. Duty of Care
NoelDavid ,   Australia   (07.30.14)
"DUTY OF CARE" Its a requirement and basic right to provide as much protection as possible to our courageous young men & women in uniform, whom are on call 24/7 ready to give their lives to protect the state of Israel from constant harm on a daily basis. I and my family will be donating money to { www.uiavic.org} for portable bomb shelters. Lets hope a Commission for Occupational Safety and Health, of all IDF personnel is set up ASAP, to rectify this appalling neglect of not installing protective shelters at at rallying points? And then take a minute to pray for the fallen
5. Got a shovel? DIG A FOX HOLE!
David ,   Hartford USA   (07.30.14)
Didn't army training teach these soldiers how to dig a slit trench to protect themselves? Or do they just wait around sucking on Arctics? Dig a hole and be safe. It takes almost a direct hit to injure someone in a fox hole. Why in hell hasn't the IDF used some excavators and bulldozers to build these trenches? C'mon guys! You can't give up lives to STUPIDITY!
6. Potentially avoidable deaths
(07.30.14)
Some IDF deaths in recent days point to military mistakes in securing personnel and identified risky practices being allowed to continue and untreated or insufficiently protected locations. Army should initiate preventative and proactive improvement by precautionary actions to reduce the higher than acceptable death toll among army personnel. The latest modern up to date equipment and protective practices to risk should be instituted urgently.
7. they should ask commanders or come to their own solutions
(07.30.14)
it is obvious that keeping soldiers at rallying points is dangerous. why the soldiers are kept there in the open for everyone to see is puzzling. however, soldiers cannot be apathetic to their own situation. they must take initiatives and ask questions.
