1. Netanyahu's "brave" (read: cowardly) decision
George   (08.03.14)
will drag his approval ratings down down down and cost him his job.
2. From my comfortable couch in Montreal I do not tell the IDF
Arnold ,   Montreal   (08.03.14)
what to do. My take on this is that the IDF knew about tunnels but not to the extent they were at. The IDF did a huge damage to Hamas as well as to Gaza. They have learned the aerial war can go so far and the ground op which normally has 2 armies opposing one another in this case was not. A new technique has arisen and it is tunnel warfare. This will be the next file for the techical experts in the IDF to work on. Hamas will think twice about engaging in an all out war again. Now it is time to delect the balance of rockets with the Iron Dome. And if they continue then the IDF continues to fire back mortars and tank shells till there is final quiet.
3. Sorry people: The truth hurts!
Eli Bodie ,   USA   (08.03.14)
Actions speak louder than words! Clearly, the Israeli leadership hasn't the stomach, the heart, or the guts to get it done! May God judge this cowards for their traitorous weakness in the face of the enemy!
4. Netanyahu has no courage!
George ,   Ashdod   (08.03.14)
You don't know courage. Courage means to follow your convictions and to stand by your promises. Netanyahu's word means nothing. The residents of the southern communities who are still under tunnel threat and are still being rained on by rockets and mortars every 15 minutes--these people have courage.
5. Anything deserving Sima's applause is scary for the rest!
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.03.14)
6. Seed of hope? This ain't Woodstock
DvorahTheProphetess ,   SC, USA   (08.03.14)
Kumbaya mentality has been tried and failed for decades. Whatever "seeds of hope" Israel may scatter will be ground into the dust by the UN, and every Arab and EU nation.
7. Bibby has no guts
oliver ,   Eilat   (08.03.14)
Bibby has again shown that he has no guts to finish what he started .What is this showing the arab and outside world that Israel does nothing ,now Iran will become even bolder knowing that we lack the will to do something about them.
8. Brave?
(08.03.14)
Netanyahu has not been attacking Hamas only women and children. He has the iron dome to intercept rockets there was no need for this massacre, the man is a war criminal
9. End of the war???
Laurie Bentner ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.03.14)
Netanyahu mentioned those goals: To weaken Hamas and restore calm in the south. Well, calm has not been restored. As we pulled back, with our collective tails between our legs, more rockets rained down on the south AND Tel Aviv. NOTHING has been accomplished. A few tunnels destroyed--there are hundreds. Thousands? Only Allah knows.
10. quiet will meet with quiet.
Zvi ,   Canada   (08.03.14)
When natanyahu said on very beginning that quiet will meet with quiet. This was uprite capitulation. Who speaks to terrorist like this?
11. #2: the only sensible talkbacker of a bunch of know it all
SF Stoner ,   Carmiel, Israel   (08.03.14)
Foreigners who are not part of the Israeli experience.
12. Expert Spin
Zev ,   Israel   (08.03.14)
First time I have ever read that running away is courageous??
13. Total victory & retaking Gaza forever is solution.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.04.14)
The author writes utter nonsense. Total victory over "Palestinians" and retaking Gaza forever is the real solution. Anything less means more wars, rockets and terror from Gaza. And soon.
14. This is better -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (08.04.14)
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4554412,00.html This is Idiocy - Senior IDF official: We could've taken down Hamas in 10 days Army says Hamas was left in power so that one organization could be held accountable for terrorist attacks coming from Gaza. Comment - If Hamas is taken out there will be no more terrorist attacks coming out of Gaza. Hamas rule must be replaced with Israels rule - thus - Isaiah 11 vers - 14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west Arn.
15. Bibi Cancels Victory.
A.C. Guard ,   USA   (08.04.14)
.Isn't it time for Israel's voters to elect someone who values his country over a Muslim American President, the U.N. and leaders from countries like France and England who in 10 to 20 years will be Muslim states.
16. to2
simsim ,   rome   (08.04.14)
sometime you make a game and play it alone ...but this war is not a game and it is not you alone
17. Our President
אנדי נרוויץ ,   ישראל   (08.31.14)
At first I have to say having lived in the South, in a shelter 29days!! Alone as an Olah Chadasha, single Parent, unable to work during this time ...I hated the outcome, felt so insecure.. Not understanding frustrated me more!!! In the end, I am so PROUD not only to be a Jew in Israel, but to have Netenyahu as our President! He is a man of the finest integrity, a humanitarian not a barbarian.... Which is what MANY in the cabinet, as well as the world seem to lack. He is a man ....of PEACE & puts his people & his country FIRST!!
